HOLLYWOOD'S DIRTY SECRET: Neal McDonough Spills the Tea on How His Strict Morals Cost Him Everything

In a jaw-dropping revelation, veteran actor Neal McDonough has come clean about how his refusal to kiss other women on screen almost destroyed his career in Tinseltown. The 59-year-old hunk, best known for his roles in Yellowstone and Band of Brothers, made the shocking admission on the Nothing Left Unsaid podcast.

According to McDonough, his strict adherence to his marital vows was a deal-breaker for Hollywood producers. He claimed that he lost everything – his agent, his publicist, and even his career – after refusing to compromise his values. The Boston-born actor revealed that he had made it clear in his contracts from the very beginning that he would not kiss another woman on screen, unless absolutely necessary.

McDonough claimed getting fired from ABC's Scoundrels over his moral code helped him have a better career, and Robertson (L) emphasized that her message now is 'Thank you, Hollywood' because the industry never 'turned it's back' on her husband; seen May 12

"I'd always had in my contracts that I wouldn't kiss another woman on screen," McDonough confessed to podcast hosts Tim Green and Troy Green. "My wife didn't have any problem with it – it was me, really, who had a problem with it."

But what exactly did this mean for his career? Well, let's just say it wasn't pretty. McDonough claimed that producers couldn't wrap their heads around his refusal to compromise his morals and soon, he found himself persona non grata in the industry.

"For two years, I couldn't get a job and I lost everything you could possibly imagine," McDonough revealed, his voice laced with emotion. "Not just houses [and] material things, but your swagger, your cool, who you are, your identity – everything."

'The right people found Neal and put him in the right places,' Robertson continued, adding that McDonough wanted to 'continue doing incredible films.' She noted his multiple collaborations with Steven Spielberg, including a major role on Band Of Brothers (pictured)

The usually stoic actor broke down in tears as he described the impact on his life. He claimed that the loss of work resulted in a domino effect, causing him to lose his sense of identity and purpose.

"Once you don't have that identity, you're kind of lost in a tailspin," McDonough said, his voice shaking. "And I was in a big, ugly tailspin for a couple of years."

But here's the twist – or should we say, the redemption story? McDonough's wife, Ruvé Robertson, a stunning South African model and actress, came to his defense, claiming that her husband's strict morals actually helped him have a better, more meaningful career in the long run.

added that her husband's temporary career troubles 'guided' him to the solid footing that he is on now. 'We cannot explain how blessed we are and how happy we are,' she said, before noting that they had been happily together for 25 years and shared five children; seen July 8 in LA

"We cannot explain how blessed we are and how happy we are," Ruvé gushed in an interview with TMZ. "The right people found Neal and put him in the right places."

And boy, did they ever! The couple has been married for 25 years and shares five beautiful children together. They've collaborated on several projects, including the critically acclaimed film Flags of Our Fathers, which was produced by none other than Steven Spielberg.

"Neal's multiple collaborations with Steven Spielberg are a testament to his talent and integrity," Ruvé proudly declared. "We're so fortunate that we have each other and that our marriage has been strengthened by Neal's commitment to his morals."

Robertson concluded by saying they hoped that her husband's enduring popularity could inspire other actors earlier in their careers, as well as people dealing with other personal struggles; pictured in Minority Report

And it seems their fans couldn't agree more! When asked about the controversy surrounding his refusal to kiss other women on screen, McDonough quipped, "I'd rather be married to a lovely woman like Ruvé than kiss anyone else!"

The sweet sentiment was met with cheers from his fans and admiration for his commitment to his values. It seems that in Hollywood, where image is everything, staying true to oneself can sometimes be the most difficult role of all.

In a surprising twist, McDonough's most recent film, The Last Rodeo, saw him star alongside his wife in a romantic lead role – but this time, it was different. This time, they kissed on screen and the chemistry was undeniable.

"We're not ones to shy away from a challenge," Ruvé said with a smile. "We believe that our marriage is what makes us strong and that's what shines through in our work."

And shine it does! The Last Rodeo may have been just another rodeo drama, but for Neal McDonough and his wife Ruvé, it was a triumph of love and loyalty over Hollywood's often toxic industry.

As the couple wrapped up their interview with TMZ, they couldn't help but gush about each other. It seemed that in a town where relationships are as fleeting as a red carpet romance, this power couple had found something truly special – and it wasn't just their on-screen chemistry.

"We're so grateful for our fans and for the opportunity to do what we love," Ruvé said, planting a sweet kiss on her husband's cheek. "We hope that our story can inspire others to stay true to themselves and never compromise their values."

And with that, the McDonoughs rode off into the sunset – together, as one, and as proud advocates for the power of marriage and commitment in Hollywood.
