Mindhunter Could Resurface: Director Hints at Possible Return as Two-Hour Films!

Legendary Netflix series could be SAVED as lead star Bill Tench gave a promising update about comeback after meeting with the director

SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS! Mindhunter, Netflix's Beloved Crime Thriller, May Be Making a Comeback!

It's been six long years since Mindhunter, the critically acclaimed psychological crime thriller, was axed by Netflix. The drama surrounding its cancellation was so intense that fans were left reeling. But now, it seems like there might be hope on the horizon for this beloved series.

According to Holt McCallany, one of the show's stars, a meeting with director David Fincher has given him "a little bit of hope" that Mindhunter could be making a comeback. And not just in any form – Fincher wants to revive it as three two-hour movies!

Psychological crime thriller Mindhunter hit the streaming service back in 2017 and went on to air 19 episodes across two seasons, before wrapping up in 2019

In an interview with CBR, McCallany dished about his chat with Fincher, saying: "So look, you know, I had a meeting with David Fincher in his office a few months ago, and he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it's just a chance... The good news is that we're at Netflix now with The Waterfront, and those movies would also be for Netflix. So I think that in terms of dates and logistics, it could all be worked out..."

But what about the controversy surrounding Mindhunter's initial cancellation? Back in April, rumors swirled that the show wouldn't be returning due to its high production costs. And in a 2023 interview with Le Journal du Dimanche, Fincher himself seemed to confirm the news, saying: "It's a particularly expensive show, and in Netflix's eyes, we didn't attract a large enough audience to justify such an investment..."

However, it seems like those rumors might have been premature. Fans are still reeling from Fincher's statement, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment and frustration.

Holt said: 'So look, you know, I had a meeting with David Fincher (pictured) in his office a few months ago, and he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it's just a chance'

One commenter on X recently exclaimed: "Y'all filmed in two rooms and a parking lot, where did the budget go?" Another added: "One of the best series. Sell it to Apple TV please I love that show."

But despite the setbacks, fans remain hopeful that Mindhunter will make a triumphant return. As McCallany said: "I would love it if it were to return... And I felt very fortunate and privileged to have gotten to do that show at all..."

So, is this the end of the road for Mindhunter? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure – fans are on the edge of their seats, waiting to see what happens next.

The popular thriller, Mindhunter, first aired in 2017 and has seen two seasons following FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they delved into the world of serial killers

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
