EXCLUSIVE SCOOP!

Michelle Pfeiffer Spills the Tea on Her Secret Grandchild, Marriage, and Career Comeback!

In a rare, intimate chat on Monday's episode of the SmartLess podcast, the 67-year-old Hollywood legend Michelle Pfeiffer dropped a bombshell that left listeners stunned: she's a grandmother! Yes, you read that right – the iconic actress has welcomed her first grandchild, but what's even more fascinating is how this new chapter in her life has made her reassess her priorities and career commitments.

The What Lies Beneath star, 67, who is notoriously private over her personal life, dropped the bombshell during a chat on Monday's episode of the SmartLess podcast - seen with Kelley in 2024

Pfeiffer, who shares two children with husband David E. Kelley, 69, a veteran TV producer behind hit shows like Picket Fences, Ally McBeal, and Boston Public, has always been notoriously private about her personal life. But on Monday, she opened up to hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett about the joys of grandmotherhood.

"I've been very quiet about it," Pfeiffer revealed, "but it's heaven! It's ridiculous. And if I had known that I was going to be a grandmother, I wouldn't have taken on so much work, but I've enjoyed everything and I'm really grateful."

But what sparked this new chapter in her life? Pfeiffer explained that her growing brood made her realize the importance of being present for her loved ones. "I don't have time nor the desire to go that deep for that long and not be present," she said, adding, "I realize I have a finite amount of time left..."

Pfeiffer adopted daughter Claudia, 32, in 1993 and gave birth to son John Henry, 31, the following year

Now, fans are buzzing about which of Pfeiffer's two children – adopted daughter Claudia, 32, and son John Henry, 31 – has become parents. The mother-of-two hasn't revealed the identity of her new grandchild, leaving everyone guessing.

But what we do know is that Pfeiffer's journey to motherhood was a bit unconventional. She adopted Claudia in 1993, just before meeting Kelley on a group date turned blind date. Talk about fate! "It was sort of perfectly timed," she gushed about their romance, which began with a rocky start – Pfeiffer admitted that the date "didn't go well" at first.

Kelley's surprise call two days later changed everything, and the couple went on to have a beautiful marriage filled with love and laughter. They've been together for over three decades!

Now, as Pfeiffer balances her new role as grandma with her career comeback, she's finding that this season of life has actually freed her up creatively. "Giving up that angst about the process has freed me up and I feel in some ways has made me better," she said.

With an illustrious filmography featuring iconic roles in Scarface, Grease 2, The Witches of Eastwick, and Batman Returns, Pfeiffer's return to acting is highly anticipated. But it seems like this Hollywood legend is more focused on her family now – and we can't blame her!

In a rare interview with PEOPLE, Pfeiffer previously spoke about the importance of family and how she met Kelley. "He adopted Claudia in 1993 following his marriage to me," she shared. "It was a beautiful gesture that showed me what kind of person he is."

In the 1980s and 1990s, Michelle rose to fame as one of Hollywood's most profitable actors and became one of the defining sex symbols of the time; seen in Scarface in 1983

Kelley's impressive career spans multiple hit TV shows, including Chicago Hope, Boston Public, Ally McBeal, and Wonder Woman, solidifying their status as Hollywood power couple.

As for Pfeiffer, her fans are eagerly awaiting her next move – but it seems like she's found the perfect balance between work and family. After all, being a grandma is a full-time job!
