Michelle Obama Spills Tea: 'Barack's Annoying Eating Habit' That Makes Her Want to Smack Him!
EXCLUSIVE: Michelle Obama Spills Tea on Her Marriage with Barack!
Get ready for a juicy dose of celebrity gossip as we dive into the latest revelation from the former First Lady herself, Michelle Obama!
In a recent episode of her podcast, IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, Michelle dished out some shocking secrets about her marriage to Barack Obama. And trust us, it's not what you'd expect from the perfect power couple.
Michelle, 61, and her husband, Barack, 64, have been married since 1992, but their relationship isn't as smooth sailing as it seems. During a conversation with psychoanalyst Dr. Orna Guralnik on her podcast, Michelle confessed that she sometimes finds herself annoyed by her husband's quirks.
"I don't actually want to tell you what I was thinking about," Michelle said, "which is like, 'The way you're chewing makes me want to smack you upside the head.'"
Yes, you read that right! Michelle, who has been known for her sharp wit and tongue-in-cheek humor, revealed that she sometimes gets frustrated with Barack's table manners. But what's even more interesting is that Dr. Guralnik believes this frustration could be a deeper issue.
"It could open something up there in a big way," the psychoanalyst explained. "Chewing can be the essence of who someone is."
Michelle's confession about her husband's chewing habits comes just weeks after she opened up about their parenting styles on another episode of her podcast. She revealed that Barack struggled to connect with their younger daughter, Sasha, who was described as a "cat" – meaning she didn't like to please others and had a strong personality.
"Sasha is like, 'Don't touch me, don't pet me, I'm not pleasing you, you come to me,'" Michelle explained. "Barack's like, well, 'she's difficult,' and I was like 'no, the first one [Malia] was a pleaser, right?'"
This isn't the first time Michelle has shared candidly about her marriage and parenting experiences. In April, she revealed that Barack had been in a "deep deficit" with their daughters, but she clarified that it wasn't because he was struggling to connect with them.
"We've had some really hard times," Michelle said passionately on her podcast, addressing divorce rumors surrounding the power couple. "So we had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I'm married to."
But what does it take for this iconic couple to keep their marriage strong? According to Michelle, it's about finding new ways to communicate and connect with each other.
"We always have the kids to talk about," Michelle said during the podcast episode. "But now that we're empty-nesters, it's like, 'Well, what are we going to talk about?' So we're together all day."
Dr. Guralnik offered some sage advice for couples struggling to find common ground: "There's a way to be next to another person, even in silence, that can be very alive." And it looks like Michelle and Barack are taking her words to heart.
With their marriage on full display for the world to see, it's clear that this power couple is still going strong. But what we want to know is – have they finally figured out how to make those awkward dinner conversations a little less cringe-worthy? Only time (and a few more episodes of IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson) will tell!
