Meghan's New Netflix Show: A Royal Reality Check?
The Duchess of Drama: Meghan Markle's Netflix Nightmare
Meghan Markle, aka "Duchess of Disaster," has done it again! The embattled royal and her team are frantically trying to spin their latest failure into a win, but it's just not working. With the release of Part 2 (or Season 1 broken up into smaller, more palatable pieces) of her Netflix show, "With Love, Meghan," the internet is buzzing with laughter and ridicule.
But what's really going on behind the scenes? Sources close to the production tell The Scholarly Note that Netflix has lost faith in Meghan and Prince Harry's $100 million deal. Yep, you read that right – a whopping $100 million was squandered on this trainwreck! And it gets worse: they've just been relegated to a "first look" deal with Netflix, which basically means their pitches will be seen first by the streaming giant. But if those don't fly, forget about it!
Meghan took to Instagram (where comments are conveniently turned off) to gush about her new trailer, posting: "The best moments are made to be shared." Uh-huh, Meghan, but your so-called "best moments" haven't exactly been making waves with audiences. In fact, the first installment of "With Love, Meghan" tanked at 383 on Netflix's global viewing charts, garnering a measly 5.3 million views between January and June.
We're told that even the normally stoic Mindy Kaling was left stumped by Meghan's catty behavior during filming. Yep, it seems like someone needs to brush up on their etiquette skills – or at least learn to get along with their guests!
Meghan's infamous tantrum with Mindy went down like this: "It's so funny that you keep saying Meghan Markle," she snapped, shoulders tensing and voice tightening. "You know I'm Sussex now." Oh, the drama! The tension! Kaling reportedly looked on in stunned silence as Meghan proceeded to correct her guest.
But what's truly astonishing is that Meghan still thinks we should look up to her for etiquette lessons. After all, she's a woman who has severed ties with her own family (save for mom) and encouraged Harry to do the same with his. Talk about hypocrisy!
And don't even get us started on her Netflix colleagues! This time around, Meghan welcomes "beloved friends" to her show – but we're not buying it. Sources close to production reveal that Dolly Parton turned down an appearance, citing concerns about associating with the toxic Sussex brand.
Instead, we get Daniel the makeup artist (back for more, no doubt); Jamie Kern Lima, the baby-voiced self-help guru; and Chrissy Teigen, who's still reeling from her cyberbullying scandal. Remember when she harassed 16-year-old Courtney Stodden online? Classy move, Chrissy!
Meghan thought it was a great idea to invite Teigen onto her show, no doubt to spread love, joy, and generosity (not to mention some much-needed PR spin). But Teigen's own history of cyberbullying has left many scratching their heads. Hypocrisy much?
Now, we're told that Netflix is still "upset" about Harry's memoir "Spare" – allegedly, it undercut what they thought was exclusive content for their royal-bashing docuseries. And let's not forget that Meghan and Harry's Netflix deal has been a costly failure all around.
But hey, why let reality get in the way of a good PR spin? With Love, Meghan is back for more (or less, depending on your perspective), this time with a "holiday celebration" special set to air in December. And who better to join Meghan in her borrowed kitchen than... well, no one, really! But they'll take whoever will show up!
The icing on the cake? This announcement came from Archewell Productions (Meghan and Harry's own company) – not Netflix. Talk about trying to spin their own narrative! As we've come to expect from the Duchess of Drama, it's all about self-promotion over substance.
With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration
Join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration – that's what they're promising this time around. But will anyone show up? Or has Netflix finally realized that this is just another expensive failure?
The question on everyone's mind is: when will the Sussexes learn to take rejection gracefully? When will they understand that their brand of drama and PR spin is no longer working?
For now, we'll just have to keep watching (or not) as Meghan Markle continues to try and peddle her wares. After all, as The Scholarly Note's resident expert once said: "The best way to get over someone is to marry them." And in this case, it seems like the Sussexes are trying to get over themselves – but at our expense!
