Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Sparkle at London Screening of 'The Lost Bus'
MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY REVEALS THE SECRET TO HIS STUNNING MARRIAGE
The Hollywood heartthrob, 55, has been sharing his romantic exploits with fans for years, but now Matthew McConaughey is spilling the beans on what really keeps the spark alive in his 13-year marriage to stunning wife Camila Alves.
As he walked the red carpet at a special screening of his new film The Lost Bus in London on Sunday, Matthew was every inch the devoted husband, supporting his glamorous partner as she flashed her million-dollar smile for the cameras. But it's not just his on-screen charm that has fans swooning – the Oscar-winning actor has a secret that has kept him and Camila, 42, going strong all these years.
In his new book Poems & Prayers, Matthew reveals the surprising solution to keeping their marriage fresh: ditching their king-size bed! Yes, you read that right – the Interstellar star claims downsizing from a massive mattress has been the key to their enduring romance.
"It was like we had three kids sleeping in our bed," he quipped. "We'd snuggle up and I'd have to cover her up... it was like we were 12 feet apart!"
Matthew, who's known for his down-to-earth charm, admits that they made the switch from a massive king-size mattress to a cozy queen-size bed after realizing their relationship had become a bit too separate.
"We got a queen size where we're shoulder to shoulder," he gushed. "I'm telling you, it's good for your marriage!"
But Matthew and Camila's love story doesn't start with the bed – they first met at a nightclub in West Hollywood back in 2006. Five years later, he popped the question on Christmas Day, presenting her with a sparkling engagement ring wrapped in seven different boxes.
"It was the last gift to be opened," Matthew reminisced of the romantic moment. "I wanted it to be special."
As we know, marriage isn't always easy – but for Matthew and Camila, it's clear that their love has stood the test of time. With three beautiful kids together (Levi, 17, Vida, 15, and Livingston, 12), they're the epitome of a Hollywood power couple.
And Matthew's not just talking about his marriage when it comes to relationships – he's also been passing on his wisdom to their eldest child Levi, who stars alongside him in The Lost Bus. As we previously reported, Levi has already shown a keen interest in acting and has even made his debut in a Father's Day-themed Lincoln car commercial.
But Matthew is adamant that Levi isn't just following in his footsteps – the 17-year-old has his own unique talents and ambitions.
"There's a line between entitlement and shame," Matthew advised. "If you can look it right in the eye and deal with it, and if it works out, you'll see, it's a hell of a roller coaster."
The Lost Bus, which is based on Lizzie Johnson's book Paradise: One Town's Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire, has already received rave reviews – boasting an impressive 87% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Matthew stars alongside co-star America Ferrera in the survival drama, and fans are eagerly awaiting its global premiere on Apple TV+ on October 3. With his film career soaring and his marriage stronger than ever, it's clear that Matthew McConaughey is on top of the world – and we can't get enough of him!
