Martha Stewart Denies Real Housewives Rumors: 'I'm Not a Housewife!'
Martha Stewart Spills the Tea: "I'm Not a Housewife!"
In a shocking turn of events, the queen of lifestyle and entrepreneurship, Martha Stewart, has finally broken her silence on the rumors swirling around her potential appearance on The Real Housewives of New York. And let's just say she's not having it!
For weeks, whispers have been circulating that Martha was in talks with Bravo honcho Andy Cohen to become a "Housewife" for the new season. But according to her rep, Susan Magrino, those rumors are nothing more than a bunch of hooey.
"Nope, no way," Magrino told our sources at TheScholarlyNote.com. "Martha Stewart is not a 'Housewife' and has no intention of becoming one."
Now, we know what you're thinking: could this be another case of Martha's infamous tongue-in-cheek humor? After all, the 84-year-old lifestyle mogul has never been afraid to speak her mind (or dish out some good old-fashioned gossip).
But don't just take Magrino's word for it – Martha herself weighed in on the rumors during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live. And let's just say she was more than happy to share her thoughts... and a healthy dose of sarcasm.
"I'm not a 'Housewife'," Martha deadpanned, "but I do have some fabulous advice for those who are: invest in a good interior designer, and don't forget to iron your sheets!"
Of course, this isn't the first time Martha has spoken out about reality TV. Back in October, she made headlines when she turned down an offer to appear on The Golden Bachelor (yes, you read that right – The Golden Bachelor!).
And let's just say her reasons for declining were...colorful. When asked by Andy Cohen if a few million dollars per episode could change her mind, Martha shot back: "The guys aren't hot enough!"
But it wasn't just Martha who was speaking out against the show; her BFF Snoop Dogg chipped in with his two cents (or rather, his dollar). "See, it ain't about money, it's about how hot the guys are," he rapped. "She said $10 million can't get it if he don't look right!"
Needless to say, not everyone was amused by Martha's take on reality TV. The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos (who, might we add, has had some experience with a certain Bachelor or two) shot back in the comments section: "I DM'ed her last night," she revealed during an interview with Access Hollywood at the time. "I don't know if she's read it yet, but I did, and I said, 'Dating is hard out there, and I had a great group of guys.'"
But Martha wasn't having it – not then, and apparently not now either.
So what's next for The Real Housewives of New York? Will Bravo bring back some old favorites like Luann de Lesseps or Ramona Singer (who knows, maybe even Sonja Morgan with her infamous "Who's the Boss?" one-liners)? We'll just have to wait and see. But one thing's for sure: if Martha Stewart ever does join the show, it'll be on her own terms – and with a healthy dose of sass, of course.
