Marilu Henner Unveiled: Iconic Taxi Star Looks Fabulously Fresh!
BOMBSHELL ALERT!
Get ready for a blast from the past, folks! The one and only Marilu Henner, TV's original bombshell, has been spotted out in Los Angeles over the weekend, leaving us all wondering what she's been up to lately.
For those who may not remember, Marilu was the sassy Elaine Nardo on the hit sitcom Taxi back in the 1970s and 1980s. She was a single mom working in a male-dominated industry (sound familiar?) and received five Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal. Talk about a trailblazer!
But that's not all, folks! Marilu got her start in the original production of Grease, and later became romantically involved with none other than John Travolta, who starred in the film adaptation. The pair dated on-and-off for over a decade and even appeared in two films together - Perfect and Chains of Gold.
Marilu's also had quite the career in television, starring alongside some Hollywood legends like Burt Reynolds, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, and Elizabeth Ashley in the Emmy-winning Evening Shade from 1990 to 1994. And let's not forget her stint as Roxie Hart on Broadway from June 1997 to March 1998!
Fast forward to today, Marilu has been keeping busy with various projects. She recently completed a run in the off-Broadway play My First Ex-Husband, alongside some talented ladies like Marsha Mason, Julia Sweeney, and Benja K. Thomas - all of whom are written by none other than Joy Behar herself! Several of her Taxi co-stars even made it out to check out her performance at the MMAC Theater in New York City.
But what's really caught our attention is Marilu's personal life. This thrice-married actress has two grown sons, Nick Lieberman and Joseph Lieberman, from her second marriage to film and television director Robert Lieberman. And let's just say she credits her energy to her clean diet - which includes plenty of fruits, veggies, beans, and the occasional serving of fish.
In an interview with Parade in January 2020, Marilu gushed about how great she feels after all these years. "I feel healthy and strong," she said. "I've kept eating the way I eat for 40 years now...I just feel better. I was able to do a Broadway show last year and keep up with the whole cast...I danced my little heart out!"
So there you have it, folks - Marilu Henner is still going strong at 73! And we can't help but wonder what she's got cooking for us next.
