Mariah Carey's Royal Requests: What She Wants From King Charles at Sandringham

Mariah Carey has shared what she plans to ask King Charles when she performs for him at Sandringham later this month - and the answer may surprise fans

MARIAH CAREY'S ROYAL GIG: THE SINGER ASKS KING CHARLES FOR A FAVOUR (BUT IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK)

In a move that's left fans gobsmacked, pop icon Mariah Carey has revealed what she plans to ask King Charles when she performs for him at Sandringham later this month. And the answer is not as diva-like as you might expect.

The 56-year-old singing sensation will be taking to the stage as part of the Heritage Live concert series, which also features Nile Rogers and Chic and Eternal. But instead of asking for a spot on the royal balcony or a private meet-and-greet with the monarch, Mariah has requested something much more... practical.

During a radio appearance on Capital Xtra, Mariah revealed what requests she had for the king, which include sorting out tax and congestion charges

During an appearance on Capital Xtra radio, Mariah was pushed by host Manny Norte to make some pleas on behalf of King Charles. And while fans might have expected her to ask for a personal thank-you note or a chance to sing her hit song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" at the royal wedding (just kidding!), she had something much more mundane in mind.

"So, what do you want to ask him?" Manny asked, playing devil's advocate. Mariah thought for a moment before responding, "No, because I just want to leave him alone. I don't want to bother people."

But Manny wasn't having it. He suggested that if he were performing at the royal gig, he'd ask King Charles for something special: no tax, no congestion charges, and no parking fees for the rest of his life! Mariah was taken aback, but then she quizzed, "And you think he's just going to give that to you?"

Manny chuckled and said, "Well, if I was performing or DJing, I'd ask that. Would you ask for me?" Mariah playfully suggested she would, but would pin it on Manny, saying, "I'm going to say you told me to ask."

But is this just a lighthearted joke, or does Mariah genuinely want King Charles to waive her taxes and congestion charges? We may never know for sure, but one thing's certain: she's not afraid to speak her mind.

THE SINGER'S LONDON STAY: A £250,000 HOTEL BILL

Meanwhile, Mariah is living like a queen in London. The Sun has revealed that the pop icon is staying at the top-floor suite of the Corinthia hotel on Embankment, which costs a whopping £20,000 per night.

A source told thescholarlynote.com that "Mariah blocked out two weeks in the best suite. It's only the best for Mariah." And it seems she's not alone in her love for luxury: Beyoncé allegedly moved out of the same penthouse in June to make way for the diva songstress.

BOWING DOWN TO MARIAH

It seems that even superstars like Beyoncé have to bow down to the throne when Mariah Carey is around. The Queen Bey reportedly packed up her £25k-a-night London penthouse for the diva songstress to move in, just as she was about to perform at Capital's Summertime Ball.

A source told thescholarlynote.com that "Superstars as big as Beyonce and Mariah want to stay in only the best hotels. But when Mariah flew in, Beyonce packed up so Mariah could take over her suites. It was like Beyonce was bowing down to another music queen."

THE SINGER'S HUMBLE SIDE: NOT EVEN KNOWING WHAT DAY IT IS

But despite her diva-like antics, Mariah has also shown a more humble side during her time in the UK. In an appearance on Capital Radio, she revealed that she never knows what day it is, and therefore doesn't experience that infamous "Friday feeling".

When asked by Chris Stark about the phenomenon, Mariah replied, "I don't get that because I never know what day it is." Chris added, "That's such a shame," while Jordan jokingly said, "This is so good. We honestly love having you on the show!"

It seems Mariah's dedication to not acknowledging time has left her feeling a bit disconnected from the rest of us. But hey, at least she's honest about it.

ALL EYES ON SANDRINGHAM

The highly-anticipated Heritage Live concert series takes place on August 15 at Sandringham's royal estate, with Mariah Carey headlining alongside Nile Rogers and Chic and Eternal. Will King Charles grant her request for no taxes and congestion charges? Only time will tell!
