Margot Robbie (pictured) has poured cold water on speculation she could one day step into Kylie Minogue's shoes for a big-screen biopic

MARGOT ROBBIE SHUTS DOWN KYLIE MINOGUE BIOPIC SPECULATION

In a shocking turn of events, Margot Robbie has poured cold water on rumors that she could be the next big-screen icon to portray Kylie Minogue's life story. The usually reliable sources had been whispering that Robbie was the pop superstar's top pick for a biopic, but it seems the 35-year-old actress is not interested.

Robbie was left stunned when informed of Minogue's endorsement during her recent appearance on BBC Radio 2. "She did not?! Why has nobody ever told me this before?!" she exclaimed, clearly taken aback by the news. "That is wild information."

The Gold Coast-raised actress, 35, was tipped by the pop superstar herself as the perfect choice to portray her if a film version of her life were ever made. Minogue is pictured

While flattered by the consideration, Robbie quickly ruled herself out, citing her lack of singing abilities as a major hurdle. "I am beyond honoured, of course I could not. I mean, Kylie Minogue is an icon and a legend – who could possibly do justice to that?" she said with a laugh. "And let's be real, actors taking on musical roles without the vocal chops can be cringeworthy. I'm happy to leave the singing to the pros!"

Robbie's reluctance to take on the role may come as a surprise to fans of the actress, who has proven her acting chops in films like 'I, Tonya' and 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. However, it seems Robbie is more interested in exploring other creative outlets – like motherhood. The actress recently welcomed her first child with husband Tom Ackerley, and it seems she's enjoying every moment of this new chapter.

But before diving back into the world of acting, Robbie has a few more projects up her sleeve. She'll be starring alongside Colin Farrell in 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey', an upcoming film that promises to be an otherworldly adventure. The movie follows the story of Sarah (Robbie) and David (Farrell), who meet at a mutual friend's wedding and discover a mysterious door in the woods that leads them on a journey through their pasts.

But when the rumour was put to Robbie during a BBC Radio 2 appearance, the Barbie star looked stunned. (Margot pictured alongside co-star Colin Farrell)

The film, which also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Billy Magnussen, and Jodie Turner-Smith, is set to hit Australian cinemas on September 18. With its unique blend of romance, drama, and fantasy, 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey' promises to be a cinematic experience like no other.

But back to the Kylie Minogue biopic – it seems the project is still very much in development hell. Sources close to the situation confirm that Netflix has inked a multi-million-dollar deal with Minogue for a documentary series, which may eventually lead to a full-length film about her life and career. However, it's unclear whether Robbie will be considered for the role again – or if anyone else will be brave enough to take on the challenge.

In an interesting aside, Robbie revealed that she first met Kylie Minogue in a far more casual setting than one might expect. The two Aussies bonded over cocktails at LA's famous Chateau Marmont after Minogue's team reached out to set up a meeting. According to Robbie, it was all about hanging out and having fun – no work or charity ties involved.

"We just got drunk together," Robbie recalled with a laugh. "I thought it was going to be about work or a charity thing, but she just said, 'You're an Aussie, I'm an Aussie, we should hang out.' And that's exactly what we did!"

With her career and personal life in full swing, Margot Robbie is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents in Hollywood right now. Whether she'll be taking on a biopic about Kylie Minogue or not remains to be seen – but one thing's for sure: we can't wait to see what she does next!
