Maddie Spears Shares Her Miraculous Comeback from a Coma

Jamie Lynn Spears' (R, pictured last Frriday) daughter Maddie (L) broke her silence, for the first time, on the near-death experience that put her in a coma back in 2017

Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Maddie Breaks Silence on Near-Death ATV Accident

The drama never ends for Jamie Lynn Spears and her family! The former teen star's daughter, 17-year-old Maddie, has finally opened up about the terrifying ATV accident that left her in a coma back in 2017. And let's just say it's a miracle she's alive to tell the tale.

Maddie, who was just eight years old at the time of the incident, spoke out for the first time on her YouTube channel, revealing that she had indeed been involved in an accident. "I did have an accident, though," she matter-of-factly stated. "I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I'm very blessed." Whoa, talk about understatement!

The 17-year-old Oak Forest Academy senior said on YouTube Tuesday: 'I did have an accident though. I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I'm very blessed. So yeah, I've just been very accident-prone. I swear my parents are amazing and they did not do anything to me!'

The accident occurred when Maddie flipped her Polaris RZR 170 ATV into a Louisiana pond while attempting to do donuts with the vehicle. She nearly drowned but miraculously made it out alive after being airlifted to Children's Hospital New Orleans. It was later revealed that the ATV manufacturers had restricted anyone under the age of 10 from operating the vehicle, making Jamie Lynn's decision to gift it to her daughter on her seventh birthday a reckless move, at best.

But don't worry, folks! Maddie is alive and kicking, and she even poked fun at her "accident-prone" reputation. The Oak Forest Academy senior joked that her parents are "amazing," but also implied that they might not have been the most responsible gift-givers. We're sure Jamie Lynn would agree!

Jamie Lynn, who recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary with husband Jamie Watson, took to social media to express his pride in Maddie's resilience and determination. "I'm so proud of this kid," he gushed on Instagram. "She never lets anything or anyone sit her down, and sharing her journey through it all hopefully inspires others to never stop going hard for what they want out of life."

Little Maddie was only eight in 2017 when she was airlifted to Children's Hospital New Orleans and made a full recovery after spending five days convalescing there from her injuries

But Jamie Lynn's story doesn't end there! The Sweet Magnolias star has been making headlines with her personal life as well as her acting career. She made a surprise revelation in her 2022 memoir, Things I Should Have Said, claiming that she knew "very little" about Britney Spears' 13-year conservatorship. Talk about an awkward sibling rivalry!

The tension between Jamie Lynn and Britney has been simmering for years, with the pop star even labeling her sister a "scum" in a public feud. And it seems like their family drama is far from over! Sources close to the Spears family claim that Jamie Lynn's memoir was filmed at Robin Greenhill's lavish home – the same woman who was accused of monitoring Britney's communications through a secret shared iCloud account.

But despite all the drama, Maddie seems to be taking her parents' antics in stride. The high school senior is planning on attending the University of Southern Mississippi next year and has already begun inspiring fans with her determination and grit. Who knows? Maybe we'll see Maddie Spears as a Hollywood starlet in the making!

Each year on February 5, the 34-year-old former child star celebrates the softball player's 'miracle anniversary' of her accident flipping an ATV and nearly drowning in their Louisiana pond

Last April, Netflix renewed Jamie Lynn's romantic drama series Sweet Magnolias for a fifth season - so the Mississippi-born, Louisiana-based blonde will be back as nurse Noreen Fitzgibbons

But Jamie Lynn is best known as the nepo sister of Grammy winner Britney Spears (L, pictured in 2017), who called her 'scum' for publishing her 2022 memoir Things I Should Have Said
