Macron's 'Air Kiss' to Kate: A Royal Blunder at RAF Northolt!

ROYAL ROYALTY: MACRON'S MISHAP IN LONDON

It was a day of utter embarrassment for French President Emmanuel Macron as he and his wife Brigitte touched down in London for their three-day state visit. The usually suave leader was left red-faced after a series of blunders that had the royal family and dignitaries alike giggling behind their hands.

The drama began at RAF Northolt in west London, where the Macrons were welcomed by Prince William and Princess Kate. In a cringe-worthy moment, President Macron attempted to help his wife down the steps from the plane, but Brigitte seemed oblivious to his gestures, leaving him awkwardly dropping his hand. And if that wasn't enough, just moments later, he committed another faux pas by embracing Prince William with a lengthy handshake before turning to Princess Kate and planting an unconventional kiss on her hand – which, let's be real, was more like an "air kiss" above it.

As Mrs Macron approached her husband at RAF Northolt, she still declined to take his hand

As the couple made their way through the base, things only got more awkward. The Macrons were spotted in a car looking frosty, with Brigitte glued to her phone after extracting it from her bag. It seemed as though the tension between them was palpable – and we can't help but wonder what was going on behind those stoic faces.

But that wasn't all – oh no. As they arrived at Windsor Castle for a carriage procession with King Charles and Queen Camilla, President Macron managed to get it wrong yet again. He first shook hands with Prince William before turning to Princess Kate and attempting to kiss her hand – only to miss it completely. It was as if he was trying to recreate the iconic "air kiss" from his earlier blunder.

Despite these mishaps, the Macrons persevered and joined the royal couple for a series of dignified events throughout the day. The procession through Windsor took in iconic landmarks like Datchet Road, Thames Street High Street, Park Street, Cambridge Gate, and George IV Gateway to the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle – all while being flanked by military units and the Military Knights of Windsor.

As the pomp and pageantry came to a close, President Macron was spotted sharing a few words with King Charles on the dais before the royal salute and the playing of the French national anthem. It seemed as though the two leaders were having a pleasant chat – but we can't help but wonder what they were discussing behind those stoic faces.

In related news, Brigitte Macron's fashion sense was under scrutiny once again. The First Lady stunned in her 30 Montaigne Rose Des Vents Bar Jacket from Christian Dior's 2024 collection – a reimagined piece inspired by the original design created by Dior himself back in 1947.

As the Macrons wrapped up their whirlwind visit, we couldn't help but wonder what went down behind closed doors. Was there tension between them? Were they just having an off day? Whatever the reason, one thing is certain – President Macron will be remembered for his cringe-worthy blunders rather than any diplomatic triumphs.
