Lizzo's Raw Confession: From Depression to Empowerment

Lizzo has admitted she got 'tired of living' as she opened up about the lowest point of her life while posing on the cover of Women's Health UK

LIZZO UNCOVERS HER DARKEST SECRET: "I COULD DIE"

The unstoppable Lizzo has opened up like never before, sharing her most personal and painful struggles in a jaw-dropping interview with Women's Health UK. The singer, who has been on top of the world with hit songs like "Good as Hell" and "Truth Hurts," reveals that she once felt so down and out that she questioned whether life was even worth living.

In an explosive admission, Lizzo, 37, confesses that she battled debilitating depression after being hit with multiple lawsuits in 2023 from former dancers who accused her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. The singer had previously dismissed the claims as "outrageous" and "unbelievable," but now reveals that the experience left her feeling like she was walking on eggshells.

"It got to the point where it's just like, well... You ever get tired of living?" Lizzo shares, her voice barely above a whisper. "It got to the point where I was like, 'I could die.' Not in a suicidal way, but more like, 'Is this all there is?' If everyone hates you and thinks you're a terrible person, then what's the point?"

The star reveals that she went through a period of intense self-doubt, questioning her own worth and identity. "I was so focused on what other people thought of me, and I didn't know how to separate myself from all that noise," Lizzo admits.

But in a stunning reversal, Lizzo has emerged stronger than ever, having lost 60 pounds over the past 14 months through a combination of diet and exercise. The singer's transformation is evident on the cover of Women's Health UK, where she shows off her toned physique in a series of sizzling workout shots.

Now, in a new interview with Women's Health UK, Lizzo reflected on that period of her life, which she has often described as her 'lowest'

In an exclusive interview with our sister publication, thescholarlynote.com, Lizzo opens up about her struggles with body image and binge eating. "There were times when I would eat so much that my stomach hurt," she reveals. "When I was done, I would be so uncomfortable, I couldn't breathe and wouldn't let anyone know."

Lizzo admits to hiding her eating habits from friends and family, secretly ordering multiple meals on food delivery apps and sneaking in extra desserts. But it wasn't until she learned to love herself, flaws and all, that she began to heal.

"I still think I'm big," Lizzo says with a laugh. "I'm still wearing plus-size clothing. I have the same rolls. The same belly, the same thighs... I think I'm just a smaller version." But this time, it's not about hiding behind external validation or seeking approval from others.

She shared: 'It got to the point where it's just like, well… You ever get tired of living? It got to the point where I was like, 'I could die.'

"Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same," Lizzo explains. "It's about daring to exist loudly and proudly in a society that told you you shouldn't exist."

For Lizzo, the journey to self-acceptance has been a long and winding road. She reveals that she used to get her validation from external sources - people telling her they loved her or that she looked good. But when those opinions changed, so did she.

"If that's all I'm getting my validation from, when it changes – and it will, because people are not always going to like you – what happens?" Lizzo asks. "Where are you going to get your love from?"

The singer confesses that it took her a long time to learn to let go of external validation and find self-love within herself. But the effort was worth it.

"There's a part of me that could easily be exploited and taken advantage of that has been broken off," Lizzo says, her voice filled with conviction. "I don't miss it... I'm proud of the person I've become."
