The power couple is promoting their upcoming film, Hollywood Grit, but it's clear that their on-screen chemistry is a direct result of the passion they share off-screen.

The 76-year-old Dallas alum and his 69-year-old co-star have been working together for years, but it wasn't until they teamed up on soap opera The Bold And The Beautiful in 2022 that sparks began to fly. Linda fondly recalled their early days on set, admitting that she was a bit taken aback when Patrick playfully slapped her derrière during a break from filming.

"I was like, 'Huh? Oh! Ok!' I didn't know what to make of it," Linda giggled in an interview with The Scholarly Note. Patrick, however, had no qualms about his actions, simply stating, "It's legal!"

The pair's chemistry is undeniable, and they're not afraid to gush about their love life on and off set. Patrick described their relationship as "very romantic," saying that every aspect of their lives has a sense of romance to it.

"It sounds so cliché, but our life is very romantic. Everything we do has that overtone," he said with a smile. Linda added that their love story began 40 years after they first met, and developed through hours of nightly phone calls and Zoom chats.

The two are currently promoting their new film, Hollywood Grit, where they play jazz club owners Eleanor and Clarence Rhodes. Patrick shared that working on the project has been a dream come true, saying, "Linda and I would go home each night just thinking, this is the most fun ever."

But it's not all sunshine and rainbows – Linda revealed that their love story began with hours of conversation over Zoom calls. She said, "We were finding lots of common threads. Patrick would read a poem that he wrote and then we'd listen to some music. And so it just started to deepen."

Patrick took things to the next level by making a 20-hour drive to meet Linda in person for their first kiss. Linda described it as "courageous," saying, "Patrick was very courageous to get on his white horse...his little blue Prius, and drive [to me] took courage."

The couple's love story has been four decades in the making, but they're not slowing down anytime soon. When asked about retirement, Patrick quipped, "We don't consider retiring, but what we are are realists. We don't work with the consistency that we did for the first 50 years of our career."

Linda added, "It's okay to slow down a bit. But when you have moments like this [Hollywood Grit] come along...it is an absolute treasure." The pair's passion and dedication to their craft are evident in every interview they give.

But what about the secrets to their successful relationship? Patrick shared that being open-minded was key, saying, "If I had resigned myself to being that single person that I thought I'd be for the rest of my life, I pretty much may end up being a singular person for the rest of my life."

Linda echoed this sentiment, admitting that she's grateful for the courage Patrick showed in pursuing their relationship. "Patrick was very courageous to take a chance on me," she said.

So, what advice do they have for singles out there? Patrick quipped, "Just be open to new ideas, new people...and everything." And it looks like his words of wisdom are working – the couple's chemistry is undeniable, both on and off screen.
