Liam Gallagher's £500k Child Support Battle Amidst Oasis Reunion Payday
Liam Gallagher's Love Child Drama: Singer Faces Fresh Court Battle Over £495,000-a-Year Child Support Payments
The troubled world of Liam Gallagher just got even more complicated! The former Oasis frontman is reportedly facing a fresh legal battle with the mother of his love child, Liza Ghorbani, over her demands to increase his child support payments in the lead-up to the highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour. And, darling readers, it's about to get messy!
According to sources close to the singer, 52-year-old Liam is predicted to rake in a whopping £50million from the world tour with his brother Noel, 58. But Liza, the mother of 12-year-old Gemma, who has autism, is seeking almost £500,000 a year in annual maintenance fees for their daughter's care and expenses.
This isn't the first time Liam has faced court battles over child support payments. Back in 2015, he was forced to pay Liza £3,000 per month after a confidential settlement was reached. However, it appears that Liza is now seeking a significant increase in payments, citing Gemma's special needs and her own expenses as reasons for the hike.
Liam's lawyer, Judy Poller, reportedly appeared via video link in court on Monday, where she argued that Liza's demands are "extreme" and aimed at "capitalising" on Liam's upcoming payday. The singer's team has accused Liza of trying to exploit Liam's financial situation for her own gain.
But Liza's lawyer, Amanda Creegan, fired back, insisting that Gemma's needs were not being met and that the hearing was over Liam's refusal to "come to the table" after agreeing to cover tuition expenses for only two years. She also claimed that Liam had never made any effort to meet his daughter or acknowledge her presence in his life.
Things got even juicier when it emerged that Liam took to social media to label Liza a "gold digger" and a "dosser." He even posted a YouTube link to John Lennon's live performance of The Beatles song "Money (That's What I Want)" in Toronto in 1969, seemingly suggesting that he pays significantly more than his reported £3,000-a-month child support payments.
Writing on X, Liam said: "And it's 300 grand a year not 36 grand a year get your SUMS right LG x." This sparked a heated exchange between the two parties, with Liza's lawyer accusing Liam of lying about his previous child support payments and violating a confidentiality agreement.
The court was told that following the 2015 court order, Liam has paid over $1million (£738,000) in child support. However, it appears that Liza is now seeking an additional £495,000 per year to cover Gemma's expenses.
A source close to Liam claimed that Liza was taking advantage of his upcoming payday from the Oasis reunion, saying: "It's clear that Liza and her legal team are hoping to cash in on Liam's big tour earnings. He's always been generous with his child maintenance, but now she's asking for even more money. It's causing Liam unnecessary stress as he prepares for the tour."
The case is set to continue on June 13, with Judge Jeffrey Pearlman presiding over a private hearing.
This latest development in the Gallagher family drama comes after a tumultuous few years for Liam. The singer has had a string of publicized feuds and relationships, including his highly publicized breakups with Patsy Kensit and Nicole Appleton. He's also fathered several children from different relationships, including daughter Molly, 26, with Lisa Moorish, son Lennon, 25, with Patsy Kensit, and son Gene, 23, with Nicole Appleton.
Despite his personal struggles, Liam appears to be enjoying a more settled relationship with his new fiancée, Debbie Gwyther, 40. But it remains to be seen how this latest court battle will affect his upcoming tour and his relationship with Liza.
