Lena Dunham: Why Meeting Luis Felber in Her 30s Was a Lifesaver
SCANDALOUS! Lena Dunham Spills on Why She's Thankful She Didn't Meet Her Husband 20 Years Ago!
The Scholary Note: In a jaw-dropping interview, Girls creator and star Lena Dunham has revealed that she believes her husband, Luis Felber, would have "ruined her life" if they had met in her twenties! The drama queen of Hollywood is spilling all the tea on why she's grateful to have dodged this potential love disaster.
According to The Scholary Note, Lena, 39, first locked eyes with the 39-year-old musician in February 2021 after relocating from New York to London. Just a few months later, they tied the knot in August 2021 - but it's clear that their whirlwind romance was a close call! In her latest interview with The Scholary Note STYLE, Lena spills on why she thinks Luis would have ghosted her if they had met in her younger years.
"I just think he would have ruined my life in my twenties," Lena confesses. "We would've spent an afternoon together, and it would've been the best time of my life... but then he would've popped up six months later being like, 'I'm back from tour!' And that would've been it." Ouch!
This isn't the first time Lena has dished on her tumultuous dating history. In a candid essay for The Scholary Note ahead of the release of her new Netflix series Too Much, she admitted to struggling with trust issues in her marriage - and this revelation only adds fuel to the fire.
Lena's new show, Too Much, is loosely based on her own life, following an eccentric New Yorker who moves to London post-breakup and falls for an indie rocker. Coincidentally, Luis plays a key role in the series as writer, executive producer, and composer - but it seems that his real-life impact on Lena's life would've been much more disastrous!
Prior to her whirlwind romance with Luis, Lena was in a five-year relationship with music producer Jack Antonoff from 2012 to 2017. Now, she's looking at new ways to expand their family after undergoing a total hysterectomy in 2018 due to years of endometriosis-related pain.
In the Scholary Note interview, Lena also opens up about her long-term dream of moving to the countryside and running their own farm - complete with "children with British accents skipping off to school in little hats and uniforms." Sounds like a fairytale come true!
