Lena Dunham Sparks Romance Buzz: 'Too Much' UK Screening Highlights!
SCANDALOUS SIGHTING: Lena Dunham's Steamy PDA Session with Husband Luis Felber at Exclusive UK Screening
The streets were abuzz with whispers of a sultry spectacle as Lena Dunham, 39, and her hubby Luis Felber, 39, locked lips in a passionate display of affection at the UK special screening for her new Netflix series, Too Much, at the prestigious Barbican Centre on Monday night.
The Girls star stunned in a ravishing one-shoulder red gown, which perfectly complemented her fiery locks, as she shared a sizzling kiss with her partner. Meanwhile, musician Luis cut a dashing figure in his sleek black suit and bow tie, exuding confidence as he supported his wife of four years.
This wasn't the first time Lena has bared her soul about her tumultuous past, having recently confessed that she "doesn't trust herself" in her marriage, reflecting on her checkered dating history. But at Monday's screening, it was clear that her love for Luis is strong – and that their relationship is still going strong!
During the Q&A session hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan, Lena dished about the series being co-produced by the same team behind Bridget Jones's Diary, saying: "We really are from a toxic generation... You know we're from a toxic generation yes..."
Katherine playfully quipped: "This show comes from the same producers who gave us Bridget Jones's Diary - an iconic story about... We've reclaimed it now but she was lovable, she was a messy. Oh, and you'll love her big pants!"
Lena giggled as she responded: "Oh, we really are, and she had that skirt that wouldn't fit over her big pants even though looking back she was really thin. That's not a knock on... it's one of the most important films of my life."
In an essay for Vogue ahead of the series' release, Lena candidly wrote about her complicated past, detailing her "boy crazy" days and her two-week relationship with Craig, whom she had strong feelings for, but who didn't reciprocate them.
Lena also reflected on her whirlwind romance with Luis, which began after a blind date in January 2021. The couple tied the knot just nine months later in September 2021 – and it seems their love is still going strong!
Too Much, a semi-autobiographical rom-com, follows the story of a New Yorker (Megan Stalter) who heads to London in the wake of a breakup, much like Lena herself did. The series is co-produced by Luis, making it an especially personal project for the star.
In a revealing interview with the Scholarly Note, Lena explained why she cast Megan instead of playing the lead herself: "I was not willing to have another experience like what I'd experienced around [my HBO series Girls] at this point in my life... Physically, I was just not up for having my body dissected again. It was a hard choice, not to cast Meg – because I knew I wanted Meg – but to admit that to myself."
The Scholarly Note understands that Too Much will be released on Netflix on July 10, and we can't wait to dive into the drama-filled world of this new series!
