Lady Gaga Returns to VMAs After Five-Year Hiatus!

Lady Gaga will be making her long-awaited return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage after a five-year absence

LADY GAGA'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE MTV VMAS STAGE!

After a five-year hiatus, the one and only Lady Gaga is set to electrify the MTV Video Music Awards stage like never before! The 39-year-old pop icon, who has been busy slaying the game with her sold-out Mayhem Ball Tour, will be joining an all-star lineup of performers that includes Doja Cat, Mariah Carey, Post Malone, and many more.

And, let's be real, Mother Monster is not just returning to the VMAs – she's coming back in style! According to a recent announcement by the MTV VMAs official Instagram page, "there will be magic in the air" as Gaga takes her latest hits to the stage. We can't wait to see what she has in store for us!

The 39-year-old superstar, who has been busy touring the world amid her sold-out Mayhem Ball Tour, was confirmed to be joining the star-studded lineup this week

Gaga's highly anticipated performance is just one of many reasons why fans are buzzing with excitement about this year's ceremony. The singer-songwriter leads the pack with an impressive 12 nominations, including nods in major categories like Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Album. She already has a staggering 18 VMA wins under her belt, and we're predicting she'll add even more accolades to her collection this year.

But that's not all – Gaga is also expected to make a killer cameo in Netflix's hit series "Wednesday" just before the VMAs. She'll be joining Jenna Ortega at the show's premiere event in New York City on September 3, where she'll undoubtedly bring her A-game (and possibly even perform a few surprise numbers).

Gaga's tour schedule is also getting a lot of attention lately. The Mayhem Ball Tour kicked off in Las Vegas back in July and has been making its way across the U.S. and Canada ever since. But don't worry, fans – she'll be wrapping up her North American leg with three consecutive shows in Chicago on September 18. After that, it's time to take the show international! Gaga will be heading to London, Stockholm, Milan, Barcelona, Berlin, and Paris for a string of dates before wrapping up her European leg.

The last time Gaga performed at the VMAs, she took the stage with Ariana Grande to perform their chart-topping dance-pop collaboration, Rain On Me, in 2020

And if you thought she was done yet, think again! Gaga has also announced plans to bring her tour Down Under in December and then jet off to Japan to kick off the new year with two shows in Osaka and four in Tokyo. Yes, it's a busy schedule – but trust us when we say it'll be worth it.

But wait, there's more! The "Mother Monster" has been teasing a brand-new single called "The Dead Dance," which is set to drop just ahead of her cameo in "Wednesday." We can't help but wonder what the song will sound like – and whether it'll give us even more reason to get excited about Gaga's return to the VMAs stage.

So mark your calendars for September 7, when LL Cool J will be hosting the MTV VMAs live from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. It's going to be a night to remember – and we can't wait to see what Lady Gaga has in store for us!

This year also marks the third time that Gaga led MTV's list of VMA nominees. She previously topped the list with 13 nods in 2010 and again in 2020 tying for first with nine total nominations; pictured August 2020
