Kim Cattrall and the Four Times She Said 'No' to Sex And The City

Kim Cattrall has revealed she turned down her famous role of Samantha Jones in Sex And The City four times when it was first offered to her

KIM CATTRALL'S SHOCKING REVELATIONS: WHY SHE TURNED DOWN SATC TWICE, HER SECRETLY MONOGAMOUS PERSONA, AND THE FEUD THAT RUINED FRIENDSHIPS

In a jaw-dropping interview with The Times, Kim Cattrall spilled the tea on her iconic role as Samantha Jones in Sex and the City. The actress revealed she turned down the part not once, but FOUR times when it was first offered to her - and it's all because of her own self-inflicted ageism!

At 41, Kim believed audiences wouldn't find a woman that age sexy, labeling it "self-inflicted ageism." But little did she know, the tide would soon turn, and 40 would become the new sexy. And when the show premiered, Kim was more than happy to take on the role that would make her a household name.

Kim explained she originally turned down the part because, at 41, she didn't believe audiences would find a woman that age sexy (pictured in Sex And The City: The Movie)

But what's even more fascinating is that beneath Samantha's provocative exterior lies a serial monogamist - yes, you read that right! Kim confessed she's a devoted partner in love and has been in a relationship with BBC audio engineer Russell Thomas since 2016. Who knew the queen of casual flings was actually a romantic at heart?

Kim's most notable role aside from Samantha is undoubtedly her work in 80s films like Mannequin, Porky's, and Police Academy. However, she's perfectly fine being synonymous with the iconic character, stating, "I created a fantastic character that I loved, and I put a lot of love into it. If I'm remembered only for that, then that's really OK."

However, Kim's most memorable moment as Samantha was her decision to decline a third film in 2016 after reports claimed she was unhappy with the storyline, which featured Samantha being sexted by a teenage boy. Talk about a #MeToo moment!

'Self-inflicted ageism' she said. 'Well, that changed ¿ 40 became sexy. It became, 'Man, let's have more of that'

But amidst all the drama and success, Kim's relationships with her former SATC co-stars have been a hot topic of discussion. In an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, she confessed she never really considered them friends - just colleagues. And in some ways, that's a very healthy dynamic.

In a scathing Instagram post, Kim slammed Sarah Jessica Parker after the actress reached out to offer her condolences following Kim's brother's passing in 2018. The post read: "Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven't already). You are not my family. You are not my friend."

And if that wasn't enough, Kim shared a link to a New York Post article titled "Inside the mean-girls culture that destroyed 'Sex and the City'." Ouch!

Kim made a cameo in the second season finale of And Just Like That where she spoke to Sarah's character Carrie on the phone.

After making it crystal clear she had no desire to reprise her role as Samantha again, Kim was left out of the spin-off show And Just Like That. However, she did make a cameo in the second season finale where she spoke to Sarah's character Carrie on the phone - but reportedly didn't see or speak to any of her former co-stars during filming.

And if you're wondering how much Kim earned for that 70-second cameo, it was a whopping $1 million! Talk about a payday!

In an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, she claimed she was never friends with her former co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker (pictured), Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis

There was then a very public falling out between the two women after Sarah reached out to express her condolences when Kim's brother died in 2018
