Kevin Sorbo Says Hollywood is Tired of 'Woke' Losses: A Trump Era Shift?
The Tables Have Turned: Hollywood's Woke Revolution Backfires, Kevin Sorbo Sees Opportunity
In a shocking twist, the film industry is experiencing a seismic shift in values, and it seems that conservative actors like Kevin Sorbo are finally getting their due. The 66-year-old actor, best known for his iconic role as Hercules in the hit TV series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys," claims that studios are now coming crawling back to him after years of rejection over his Christian values.
Sorbo, who has been a vocal critic of Hollywood's woke agenda, believes that the industry is finally waking up to the fact that their attempts to push progressive ideologies onto audiences have lost them millions of dollars. "I think people are tired of it, and Hollywood's tired of losing money like they're going to lose another $300 million on this woke Disney movie with 'Snow White,'" he told Fox News Digital.
The actor's comments come on the heels of several high-profile flops, including Disney's live-action remake of Snow White, which tanked at the box office and was met with widespread criticism for its perceived "woke" themes. Star Rachel Zegler faced backlash for her political opinions, and the film became one of the least liked movies of all time on review sites.
Meanwhile, James Gunn's new Superman movie has been panned by critics, who are unconvinced by the first foray into the newly-branded DC Universe. The film's director was also embroiled in controversy ahead of its release, likening the Man of Steel to an immigrant and sparking outrage among fans.
Sorbo believes that this is a turning point for Hollywood, and that the industry is finally realizing that they can't keep pushing their progressive agenda onto audiences without losing money. "I think the American people are fed up, and I think they showed it in the last election as well," he said. "They said enough is enough of this stuff."
But Sorbo's success has not been without its challenges. The actor claimed that he was blacklisted by Hollywood after being vocal about his Christian values, and that he had to create his own production company, Sorbo Studios, in order to produce movies that aligned with his beliefs.
"I'm the first cancel culture victim before I knew it was a term," he said. "Hollywood booted me up a dozen years ago for things I was posting on the internet. And I looked at my age and I said, 'Oh, you guys are upset that I'm posting the truth? Is that a problem with you guys?' Because they hate the truth, and they hate anybody who's a Christian in Hollywood, anybody who is a conservative."
Despite these challenges, Sorbo has continued to produce movies that reflect his values, including "What If...", which is set to be re-released for its 15th anniversary on August 5 and 7. The film centers on Ben Walker (Sorbo), a businessman who had lost his faith, who wakes up to a different reality: married to his college sweetheart (Kristy Swanson) and working as a small-town pastor.
"Hollywood used to put out movies like this all the time," Sorbo said. "They were about hope and love and laughter and redemption and faith. And I think they're waking up a little bit now because they're losing a lot of money on this woke insanity. So let's see what happens with it."
Sorbo's comments have sparked a heated debate in the entertainment industry, with many calling him a " conservative superstar" who is finally getting his due. But others are criticizing him for being too outspoken and polarizing.
Regardless of the controversy, one thing is clear: Kevin Sorbo has won over the hearts of many fans who share his values, and he's not going to let anyone silence him anytime soon.
Sorbo's Rise to Fame
Before becoming a household name, Sorbo was just another struggling actor trying to make it big in Hollywood. But after landing the role of Hercules in the hit TV series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys," he became an overnight sensation and rose to international fame.
The show ran for six seasons from 1995 to 1999, cementing Sorbo's status as a leading man in Hollywood. But despite his success, he claims that he was rejected by studios time and time again due to his conservative Christian values.
"I was blacklisted," he said. "My agent and I parted ways because they couldn't handle it. They didn't want to be associated with me."
But Sorbo refused to give up on his dreams of producing movies that reflected his values. He created his own production company, Sorbo Studios, which has been churning out movies at a rapid pace.
"I'm making four movies a year now," he said proudly. "And I'm not just making any old movie. I'm making movies that are true to my faith and my values."
The Shift in Hollywood
Sorbo believes that the industry is finally shifting towards more conservative values, and that this shift has been accelerated by President Donald Trump's presidency.
"I think people are tired of the woke agenda," he said. "And I think they're finally starting to speak out against it. They're saying enough is enough."
The actor claims that studios are now reaching out to him with scripts that align with his values, and that he's been approached by Netflix and Amazon with a number of projects.
"Hollywood is shifting a little bit because I'm starting to get calls from the studios saying, 'Hey, there's a big thing with this stuff. So maybe send us a couple of scripts,'" he said.
But not everyone is convinced that Sorbo is right about the shift in Hollywood. Some are calling him a "self-proclaimed conservative superstar" who is trying to cash in on his fame.
Regardless of the controversy, one thing is clear: Kevin Sorbo has become a household name and a respected voice in the entertainment industry.
The Battle for Hollywood
Sorbo's rise to fame is just one chapter in the ongoing battle between conservative actors and the woke agenda that has taken over Hollywood. But with the release of "What If..." and other movies like it, Sorbo is hoping to make a statement about the type of movies that audiences want to see.
"We're not just making movies for people who share our values," he said proudly. "We're making movies for everyone. And I think that's what's missing in Hollywood right now."
As the debate rages on, one thing is clear: Kevin Sorbo has become a lightning rod for controversy and a symbol of resistance against the woke agenda that has taken over Hollywood.
But with his courage and conviction, he's inspiring others to stand up for their values and fight back against the forces of censorship and conformity.
