Kesha's Candid Apology: Regret Over Controversial Lyrics

Kesha has expressed regret over yet another of her song lyrics - a little over a year after permanently changing a line about Sean 'Diddy' Combs in her 2009 debut single TikTok (pictured February 6)

KESHA SIPS FROM THE CHAMPAGNE BUBBLES OF REGRET... AGAIN!

The 38-year-old pop sensation, Kesha, has once again found herself in hot water over a song lyric that's left fans and critics alike gagging for more. In an explosive interview with People magazine, the Grammy-nominated singer confessed to regretting another of her infamous lyrics - this time from her 2010 hit single "Cannibal".

The offending line? "I'll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer" - a reference to the notorious serial killer who brutally murdered and dismembered 17 young men between 1978 and 1991. The lyric has sparked outrage among fans, with many calling for Kesha to apologize and retract her statement.

This time, the 38-year-old pop star was referring to the lyric 'Be too sweet, and you'll be a goner (Yep) / I'll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer' from her 2010 song Cannibal

But why is Kesha suddenly having second thoughts about this particular lyric? Perhaps it's because she's currently riding high on the waves of her latest album, Period - a game-changer that marks her first release under her own label, Kesha Records. After years of battling with her former record label and producer Dr. Luke, who she accused of physical and emotional abuse, Kesha has finally gained control over her music and creative vision.

"I feel very whole," she gushes to People about the album's themes of liberation and empowerment. "Now all my energy gets to focus back on my true purpose - helping people feel seen, loved, safe, and f*ing entertained as hell."

But what about the Dahmer lyric? Kesha acknowledges that it was a mistake, saying: "I got re-canceled for the Jeffrey Dahmer lyric... If some people aren't offended by what I'm doing, I'm probably not doing a very good job of being a pop star." Ouch!

Kesha (last name Sebert) admitted to People on Thursday: 'Oh my God, I got re-canceled for the Jeffrey Dahmer lyric. It was a controversial lyric. If some people aren't offended by what I'm doing, I'm probably not doing a very good job of being a pop star' (pictured February 6)

This isn't the first time Kesha has faced backlash over her lyrics. Remember when she changed the line from "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy" to "Wake up in the morning like f* P. Diddy"? Yeah, that was a thing.

But what about Diddy himself? Well, the rap mogul was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges last week, but found guilty on two counts of the Mann Act for flying paid escorts around the country for his baby oil-drenched sex parties (because who needs boundaries, am I right?). Kesha has been vocal in her support for Diddy's accusers, tweeting: "Cassie, I believe you... Your strength is a beacon for every survivor."

And speaking of survivors, Kesha's own journey to freedom and empowerment is nothing short of inspiring. After years of battling her former producer Dr. Luke (who she accused of physical and emotional abuse), Kesha has finally gained control over her music and creative vision.

"I'm not the kind of person that shuts up," she proudly declared in an interview with TMZ. "I know what I stand for, I know my integrity is rock-solid, so I speak the truth. The industry can kinda, like, suck my d*."

Kesha's latest album, Period, drops this Friday and marks a major milestone in her career - one that she's been fighting for years. As she prepares to take the stage with her joint tour with Scissor Sisters, Kesha is more confident than ever about her music and her message.

"It's time to get f*ing loud," she declares. "I'm taking back my voice, my power, and my story."

Between 1978 and 1991, the notorious serial killer raped, killed, and dismembered 17 boys and men

The world is watching - and we can't wait to see what Kesha does next!

Jeffrey - otherwise known as the Milwaukee Monster or the Milwaukee Cannibal - had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, and a psychotic disorder before he was beaten to death by a fellow Columbia Correctional Institution inmate in 1994 (pictured in 1991)

In 2022, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan released their dismally-reviewed Netflix crime thriller, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, starring Evan Peters (M), which depicted his unimaginable crimes and the victims desperate for justice

The two-time Grammy nominee previously altered her track TikTok from 'Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy' to 'Wake up in the morning like f*** P. Diddy' during Reneé Rapp's (R) 2024 Coachella set

Kesha told TMZ: 'Yes, it will be [permanent]. The fans should learn it for my upcoming [shows]. I want to hear it louder than ever. I stand by that. I'm not the kind of person that shuts the f*** up. I know what I stand for, I know my integrity is rock-solid, so I speak the truth'

The LA native tweeted her support for Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura on Wednesday following the shocking split verdict at her disgraced 55-year-old ex's (L) seven-week federal criminal trial

'Cassie, I believe you,' Kesha - who boasts 43.1M social media followers - tweeted. 'I love you. Your strength is a beacon for every survivor'

The Yippee-Ki-Yay singer proudly 'gained back legal rights over my own voice' and her sixth studio album Period - dropping this Friday - will officially mark the first from her very own label, Kesha Records

Kesha and the Scissor Sisters will next bring their joint 26-date The T**s Out Tour to the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA on Thursday night
