Kathy Griffin Flaunts Youthful Glow Post Third Facelift
Kathy Griffin's Facelift Frenzy: The Comedian Spills All on Her Third Procedure and Ageism in Hollywood
In a shocking move, comedian Kathy Griffin has revealed that she's undergone her third facelift, leaving fans and foes alike wondering if she's finally succumbed to the pressures of ageism in the entertainment industry. The 64-year-old My Life On The D-List star made headlines last month when she announced her latest cosmetic procedure on her Talk Your Head Off podcast.
"I've had three facelifts, and I'm not ashamed to admit it," Griffin said with a sly grin, as if daring anyone to judge her. "Very taut is also very true!" She poked fun at herself, acknowledging that she's indeed vain - but who can blame her? After all, as she quipped on her podcast, "No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face. You come to hear my jokes, which is what I want."
But behind the humor lies a deeper concern: ageism in Hollywood. Griffin has long been an outspoken critic of the industry's discriminatory practices towards older women. She recalled how she's faced rejection and criticism over the years, with some even suggesting that she's "too old" for certain roles.
"I've been hearing it since I was 30," Griffin said candidly. "Managers, agents, studio heads, network executives - they all think it's okay to say, 'You're really funny, but we're going younger.' It's like, hello? That's not a legitimate reason for someone not to get a job!"
Griffin's latest facelift was performed by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei, who she has worked with in the past (she even presented him with a Daytime Beauty Award in 2023). The comedian raved about her experience, calling Dr. Talei "the best" and saying that she couldn't say enough good things about him.
As for the procedure itself, Griffin was refreshingly honest about the pain involved - which, she joked, some people might downplay as being comparable to getting a tooth filled. "No, it's painful," she insisted. "You get out of that place and you come home with drains coming out of your chin... and it's disgusting, I'm not going to lie."
Griffin even revealed the extent of her surgical enhancements: in addition to the facelift, she underwent a foxy eye lift (a.k.a. blepharoplasty) and had work done on her chin. She admitted that there's still a noticeable stitch visible - but, she quipped, "You're probably not going to see it unless you're under me... in a very different way."
Now, some might wonder if Griffin's latest facelift is just another attempt to cling to relevance in an industry where youth and beauty are often prioritized. But the comedian has always been unapologetic about her choices - and why should she be? As she said on her podcast, "I don't want you to come to care what I look like. You come to hear my jokes."
In fact, Griffin's latest move might just spark a much-needed conversation about ageism in Hollywood. As she spoke out against the industry's discriminatory practices, she also gave fans a glimpse into her own struggles with vanity - and how it sometimes gets the better of her.
"I have a little vanity," Griffin confessed on her podcast, laughing. "I mean, I'm not as vain as some people think... but still." And who can blame her? After all, when you've spent decades making us laugh, why not take advantage of a few more years in the spotlight?
