Kathy Bates Unveils Her Stunning Transformation: The Oscar Winner's Jaw-Dropping Weight Loss Secret

In a shocking reveal, actress Kathy Bates has dropped a whopping 100 pounds and is looking absolutely stunning on the cover of Variety. But what's even more fascinating is her unapologetic defense of using Ozempic to achieve her weight loss goals. The iconic actress, known for her roles in Misery and Harry's Law, has been open about her long-term struggle with weight gain, which was exacerbated by her diagnosis with type 2 diabetes in 2017.

Bates' journey to slim down began six years ago when she was portraying the sarcastic defense attorney Harriet 'Harry' Korn in David E. Kelley's legal comedy Harry's Law. At that time, she had to sit down between every take due to her weight, and it was a humiliating experience for her. But things took a drastic turn after her diagnosis with type 2 diabetes.

As the actress explained to Variety, "When I got this diagnosis, I figured out what to do to slowly, over years, to lose the weight." However, she credits Ozempic, a medication designed to treat diabetes, as the final push she needed to reach her goal weight. With the help of the trendy medication, Bates was able to shed an additional 20 pounds and maintain it.

But what's even more remarkable is that Bates' weight loss journey has been a long-term one. She had already lost 80 pounds before hopping on the Ozempic bandwagon, which made working a lot easier for her. "Now that I've been able to get really healthy, I can move, I can breathe, I can have fun," she exclaimed.

The timing of Bates' weight loss and landing the starring role in Matlock couldn't be more perfect. The actress has even earned an Emmy nomination for her work on the show. And with designers sending her dresses to try on – a first-time experience for her – Bates is still getting used to the new attention.

'F**k you, it was the Ozempic!' Bates said of those overly emphasizing the role the medication played in her weight loss efforts

"I looked at it [the dress] on the hanger, and I thought, 'That's not gonna fit.' But when I put it on, it fit, and I just melted down," she recalled. "I'm still figuring out what it's like to be without all of that weight. What was it for? What was I hiding myself from?"

Bates' transformation has been nothing short of remarkable, with the actress even experiencing an improvement in her lymphedema since shedding weight. She no longer needs to wear compression sleeves on her arms – a testament to the incredible impact of her weight loss.

But what's truly inspiring is Bates' unapologetic attitude towards using Ozempic to achieve her weight loss goals. In response to critics who have accused her and other celebrities of relying too heavily on medication, Bates had a clear message: "F**k you, it was the Ozempic!"

The critically-acclaimed actress is up for an Emmy for her starring role in Matlock

The actress has been through a lot in her life, including surviving ovarian cancer and breast cancer. But her latest achievement – landing the starring role in Matlock and earning an Emmy nomination – is a testament to her resilience and determination.

As she put it, "I never expected to have this at my age, at the end of my career." And with her stunning transformation on full display for all to see, it's clear that Kathy Bates is more than just a talented actress – she's an inspiration to us all.
