It's a royal coup! Kate Winslet has joined an impressive roster of celebrities, including Sir David Beckham and Sienna Miller, as an ambassador for The King's Foundation. The Oscar-winning actress, 49, was "thrilled" to be taking on the role and couldn't contain her excitement as she shook hands with none other than King Charles himself.

The star-studded ceremony, held at St James's Palace in London, celebrated the 35th anniversary of The King's Foundation, a charity that champions environmental education, sustainability, and traditional heritage skills. Kate looked stunning in an oversized cream suit, beaming from ear to ear as she posed with her framed certificate and charmingly told the King: "Don't worry, I'll be all in, I've got your back!"

As one of the most dedicated eco-warriors in Hollywood, Kate is passionate about protecting our planet. She shared with The Scholarly Note that she's "thrilled" to join forces with like-minded celebrities and the foundation to make a positive impact.

"I'm so excited to be part of this incredible team," Kate gushed. "The King's Foundation does fantastic work in promoting nature and our wonderful planet. I'm honored to be an ambassador for such a noble cause."

Kate joined other A-listers, including Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, chef Raymond Blanc, and Alan Titchmarsh, at the reception, where she rubbed shoulders with footballer David Beckham, who became an ambassador for the King's Foundation in 2024. The pair seemed to be having the time of their lives, laughing and chatting like old friends.

Following the announcement Kate gushed: 'One of my passions is exploring ways that we can protect and promote the natural world, something I have in common with His Majesty

Meanwhile, King Charles proved to be the perfect host, charming guests with his quick wit and warm smile. Even the notoriously stoic Sir Rod Stewart couldn't help but crack a smile as he chatted with His Majesty.

The foundation's impressive track record includes training over 115,000 students in traditional crafts and environmental education, welcoming more than 2.5 million visitors to its UK destinations, and positively affecting more than 500,000 lives through sustainable urban planning.

In an exclusive interview with The Scholarly Note, Penny Lancaster, a proud ambassador of the King's Foundation, praised His Majesty for his vision and tireless efforts in promoting environmental awareness.

She continued: 'I am so thrilled to become an ambassador for The King's Foundation, particularly as the charity celebrates its 35th anniversary this year'

"The King has been at the forefront of this movement for over 50 years," Penny said. "He's been accused of 'hugging trees' and people thought he was mad, but he was proven right all along. He's been a pioneer and visionary in every sense of the word."

Penny continued: "These awards and the foundation are so important because they give a platform to winners who can go out there and make a difference. The King may have been ahead of his time, but now we're all trying to catch up. I think it's fantastic that he's bringing people together to make a positive impact."

As Kate Winslet joins the ranks of celebrity ambassadors for The King's Foundation, one thing is clear: this A-list squad is ready to take on the world and make a difference – one tree hug at a time!
