EXCLUSIVE: Kate Moss Spills on Her Sizzling Friendship with David Bowie: "He Was an Enigma, a True British Icon"

In a brand-new podcast, supermodel Kate Moss is opening up about her close friendship with the late music legend David Bowie. The eight-part series, titled Music Uncovered, David Bowie: Changeling, takes listeners on a wild ride through Bowie's transformation into a rock icon, and Kate shares some jaw-dropping anecdotes that will leave fans speechless.

In an exclusive clip from the podcast, Kate reveals that David, who affectionately nicknamed her "Smasher," would often surprise her with phone calls on her birthday. "I didn't need any other presents after that," she gushes. But what's even more intriguing is that Bowie asked Kate to accept his Lifetime Achievement Award at the Brit Awards in 2014 – on one condition: she had to wear something from his iconic archive.

Kate, 51, hosts Music Uncovered, David Bowie: Changeling, an eight-part series for BBC Sounds and BBC Radio 6 Music, which examines how David reinvented himself into a rock icon

Kate chose a breathtaking Kansai Yamamoto bodysuit that David himself wore during his legendary Rainbow Theatre gigs in 1972. "It fit me like a glove," she says, beaming with pride. The experience was "surreal" for Kate, but it's clear that she felt honored to wear the outfit.

So, why did Kate agree to host the podcast? "David Bowie was a very special person – someone who was much more than a friend," she explains. "He was an enigma." And with this series, Kate gets to delve into the extraordinary five-year chapter of Bowie's life that inspired countless creatives, including herself.

Joining Kate on the podcast are some A-list friends, including Boy George, Iggy Pop, Robbie Williams, and Twiggy – all of whom will share their own stories about working with or being influenced by Bowie. And to make it even more special, there's previously unheard interview footage from David himself!

Kate, who did a number of shoots with the Ziggy Stardust icon, collected a BRIT award on his behalf in 2014 while wearing his Kansai Yamamoto bodysuit

One particularly fascinating clip sees David discussing his creative process: "I think that throughout the 60s and most of the 70s I was driven by lust, as much as anything. It's a great creative force... That in turn is replaced by anger, when you ask where the money is. And then you get depression, and then you go to Berlin and write really moody instrumental stuff." Ouch – it sounds like David had his fair share of struggles!

But what's truly remarkable about this podcast is that it's not just a tribute to Bowie's life; it's also a celebration of the impact he continues to have on artists today. Kate confesses, "This podcast is a real celebration of my friend, a true British icon." And judging by the lineup, we can't wait to dive in and learn more about the making of this music legend.

Now, let's get to some juicy gossip! Back in 2016, when David sadly passed away, Kate revealed that he would often tease her about her fashion sense – or rather, lack thereof. "He'd say, 'Kate, you can't even get into my outfits!'" she laughed during an interview with BBC Radio 6 Music.

But the best part? Kate confessed that it was actually true – David's clothes were so tiny that even she couldn't fit into them! When asked if the rumors were true, Kate playfully quipped, "Yeah, it didn’t fit me! And when I saw him after that, he was like 'mmm, I heard the clothes didn’t fit.' All right, rubbing it in!"

So, what can we expect from Music Uncovered, David Bowie: Changeling? Each episode will delve into different aspects of Bowie's life and career, including his early performances with The Hype, his fascination with artist Andy Warhol, and the creation of The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars.

And as if that weren't enough, the podcast will also feature exclusive interviews from Lady Gaga, Sinéad O'Connor, Lou Reed, and Tracey Emin – all of whom have been influenced by Bowie's innovative spirit. It's clear that this podcast is going to be a wild ride, full of fascinating stories, juicy gossip, and behind-the-scenes insights into the making of one of music's greatest legends.
