Kat Von D's Jaw-Dropping Transformation: From Inked Outlaw to Clean Slate Sensation

Get ready for a dose of reality, folks! Kat Von D, the 42-year-old tattoo artist and TV personality, has made headlines with her stunning transformation. Gone are the colorful tattoos that once adorned her body, replaced by an all-black canvas that's got everyone talking.

The LA Ink star, known for her bold and edgy style, has been secretly working on covering up most of her 80% inked body with solid black ink. And we're not just talking about a few tweaks here and there – nope! Kat has gone full-on blackout mode, giving herself a sleek new look that's got fans both impressed and intrigued.

The tattoo artist, 42, first revealed in October that she would be covering up all of her colourful artwork with solid black ink after becoming 'fed up' with her look (pictured)

But why the drastic change? According to Kat, it was time for a fresh start. "I think I had been fed up with a lot of the tattoos I got over the years for a long time," she confessed in an exclusive interview with Inked Magazine. "They represented a part of my life that no longer aligns with who I am today."

Kat's decision to cover up her colorful artwork wasn't taken lightly, folks. It took 17 sessions and almost 40 hours of work to become "about 80% done" with blacking out her body – and we're not just talking about a quick laser session or two! The process was long and arduous, but Kat's dedication to her new look is admirable.

But it's not just her tattoos that have undergone a transformation. Kat's also been busy making music, something she's always wanted to do but put on the backburner while building her makeup line and filming TV shows. And let us tell you – her new tunes are going to blow your mind!

Kat also revealed she is in the process of lasering some of her artwork, including a rose on her neck, as she keeps her Instagram followers up to date with the process

"I've always had a passion for music," Kat shared with The Scholarly Note. "But I think I let a decade or two get consumed by filming TV shows and running my old makeup line." And now, she's making up for lost time, releasing a brand-new album that's got everyone buzzing.

Of course, not everyone is happy about Kat's new direction – but we're here to tell you, girl, don't let the haters bring you down! With her trademark sass and confidence, Kat has developed a thick skin over the years, and she knows exactly how to deal with negative comments.

"I think social media can make negative noise louder than the good stuff," Kat said. "But you just got to figure out a way to not care – or at least not let it derail you." And trust us, Kat has learned to navigate the ups and downs of fame like a pro.

After blacking out her arms she later began the process on her legs

But what about her personal life? Well, that's been through its own metamorphosis as well! Kat traded in her city lifestyle for a simpler one in rural Indiana, where she lives with her husband Leafar Seyer (aka Rafael Reyes) and their adorable five-year-old son Leafar. The happy family is all about embracing the simple life – no more city stress for them!

And if that wasn't enough, Kat has also made some major changes to her spiritual path. After a journey of self-discovery, she renounced witchcraft and converted to Christianity in 2023. "I traded the city life for a simple life in rural Indiana," Kat shared on The Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey podcast. "And I love it – we bought a nice piece of land where we plan to set up our homestead soon."

As for her old books on witchcraft? They're gone, folks! Kat has ditched the 'crutches' and is now focused on her faith. "I just want Jesus," she said simply. "And I feel like all these other things – breathing techniques, spell work, nature worship – they're just distractions."

'I think at that time I thought I would just black out an arm, but shortly after, I knew I would end up tattooing my whole body,' she explained

Well, we think Kat's got it figured out, don't you? From a bold new look to a fresh start in life and music, this girl is on fire! And as for her message to the world? "Maybe before commenting any negativity, just remind yourself: What you consider ugly might be beautiful to someone else," she said. Words of wisdom from a true queen.

Stay tuned for more updates on Kat's exciting new chapter – we can't wait to see what's next for this talented and inspiring woman!
