Kaia Gerber vs. Stalker: The Seance Demand That Shook the Supermodel
SEANCE-GATE: Kaia Gerber and Cindy Crawford Flee for Their Lives from Creepy Stalker Who's Gone Too Far
In a shocking turn of events, supermodel Kaia Gerber has been granted a court-ordered restraining order against a 35-year-old stalker who's taken his obsession with the model and her mom, Cindy Crawford, to a whole new level. We're talking creepy, disturbing, and straight-up terrifying.
According to TMZ (and we've got the deets), Daniel Lee Schoonover has been accused of appearing at Gerber's theater festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where he allegedly asked her to participate in a seance. Yes, you read that right - a seance! Because nothing says "I'm into you" like conjuring up spirits and demons to get close to your crush.
But wait, it gets worse. After the creepy encounter at the theater festival, Schoonover showed up at Crawford's home months later, where he was caught sleeping outside the pedestrian gate by security cameras. The footage is enough to make your skin crawl - Schoonover's seen lurking in all black, looking like a stalker straight out of a horror movie.
And if that wasn't enough, Schoonover allegedly rang the doorbell at Crawford's home and asked if Gerber lived there. When Crawford politely told him no, he just kept on coming back for more - leaving threatening comments on social media that were described as "sexually graphic and extremely concerning" by the documents.
Gerber, who's been open about her struggles with stalkers in the past (including a particularly harrowing incident in 2022), had already served Schoonover with an emergency protective order after realizing it was him from the theater festival. But despite the order, Schoonover just kept on stalking - and now Gerber and Crawford are seeking a court-ordered restraining order to keep him away for good.
And if you're wondering how Gerber's coping with all this drama, let's just say she's not letting it get her down. She showed up at the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles over the weekend, looking like a total goddess in Givenchy. "Thank you for having me @theacademy @givenchy," she captioned one of her Instagram posts.
But despite all the drama with Schoonover, Gerber's got her priorities straight - and that includes bonding with her mom over books and podcasts (and yes, even Burning Man). As Gerber told People last year, "I do feel like we've established a really strong bond and friendship outside of just a mother-daughter dynamic, which has been so fun for me over the last few years."
And we can't help but wonder - will Schoonover finally get the message and leave them alone? Only time will tell.
In related news, The Scholarly Note.com reached out to Gerber's reps for comment, but as of now, they've had nothing to say. Maybe they're just too busy avoiding creepy stalkers in all black?
But one thing's for sure - we'll be keeping a close eye on this story as it develops. Stay tuned!
