Julie Chrisley's Health Battle: From Prison to Pardon

Julie Chrisley is breaking her silence on the poor conditions she endured while in prison for more than two years

SHOCKING PRISON CONDITIONS EXPOSED!

Reality TV star Julie Chrisley, 52, has finally broken her silence on the appalling conditions she endured while behind bars for over two years. And, honey, it's a wild ride!

As you may recall, Julie and her hubby Todd, 56, were slammed with a whopping $30 million bank fraud and tax evasion scheme in 2022. The power couple was serving out their sentences - Julie at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, and Todd at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, Florida.

Julie, 52, and her husband Todd, 56, were both convicted in 2022 for orchestrating a $30 million bank fraud and tax evasion scheme and had been serving multi-year sentences

But just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, Julie's daughter Savannah, 27, spilled the beans on her parents' miserable prison life last summer. And now, Julie is speaking out about the horrors she faced - asthma, heat exhaustion, and a whole lot of inhumane treatment!

In an explosive ABC News special that premiered on Hulu on Sunday, Julie revealed the bleak reality of her 28-month stint behind bars. "I could see my health deteriorating," she confessed, adding, "A month ago I was sitting in prison, dreading a summer with no air conditioning, and now here I am, home."

The former USA Network star's ordeal began when she was transferred to the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Little did she know that she would soon be struggling to breathe due to her newly developed asthma - a direct result of the harsh prison conditions!

Julie's daughter Savannah had previously detailed the appalling conditions at the Kentucky facility on her Unlocked podcast. And let me tell you, it's not for the faint of heart! "In the visitation room, thank goodness there's air conditioning," Savannah said, "but outside the visitation room, there is zero air conditioning and the heat index was [between] 105 and 110 [degrees]."

The concerned daughter continued, "And that's what mom's living in, in conditions like that, with absolutely no air, and it can be 100 degrees inside the building." Savannah also revealed that her mom got physically sick due to the extreme heat, leading to heat exhaustion and even passing out!

But Julie's story doesn't end there. In a shocking turn of events, President Trump personally called their daughter Savannah in late May to inform her that he had granted the couple clemency! And just one month later, the Chrisleys were finally free to walk out of prison.

As they look to the future, the family is planning to use their platform to advocate for prison reform. They're already working on a new Lifetime reality TV series - because, why not? After all, as Todd so eloquently put it during a press conference in May, "Being in the prison system, anyone that says that it's a fair shake, it's not."

The Chrisleys rose to fame with their unscripted series Chrisley Knows Best back in 2014. And now, they're ready to share their real-life drama with the world once again. So, stay tuned for more updates on this juicy story!
