Julie Chrisley Denounces 'Crazy' Claims of Faked Breast Cancer Diagnosis
"Breast Cancer Betrayal: Julie Chrisley Slams Fake Diagnosis Accusations!"
In a shocking turn of events, reality TV personality Julie Chrisley is speaking out against scathing accusations that she faked her breast cancer diagnosis in the past. The 52-year-old star, best known for her appearances on "Chrisley Knows Best" and other family-friendly shows, addressed the controversy during a recent episode of their podcast, "Chrisley Confessions 2.0."
According to Julie, the rumors started circulating after she received her breast cancer diagnosis in March 2012, when she was just 39 years old. Her husband Todd Chrisley, 56, chimed in on the podcast, recalling how they were still grieving the loss of his father at the time.
Julie clarified that she had already been diagnosed with breast cancer a decade before their trial and convictions for bank fraud and tax evasion. She was undergoing treatment during that summer, but her cancer diagnosis didn't help her avoid the consequences of her actions. In fact, Julie ended up serving a seven-year prison sentence in Lexington, Kentucky.
The accusations are "so disrespectful" to Julie and her family, she said on the podcast. It's especially egregious considering that they went on to serve more than two years in prison before receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump in May 2021.
Their daughter Savannah Chrisley, 27, also addressed the fake breast cancer claims on her own podcast, "Unlocked." She was "dumbfounded" by the accusations and called out the individual who made them for being "terrible human beings."
Savannah explained that her family wasn't federally or criminally charged until 2019, which debunks the theory that Julie faked her breast cancer diagnosis to avoid court proceedings. She concluded that there's a "special place in hell" for someone who would make such an accusation.
This comes as Julie has recently opened up about the harsh conditions she endured while in prison, including developing asthma during her 28-month stint behind bars. Her husband Todd and daughter Savannah have also spoken out about the challenges they faced during that time.
In a recent interview with ABC, Julie revealed that she developed asthma while in prison due to the poor air quality and lack of air conditioning. She marveled at being able to enjoy a summer without those conditions now that she's back home.
It seems like Julie Chrisley is determined to clear her name and put these baseless accusations to rest once and for all. With her family's support, it looks like they're ready to move forward from this controversy and focus on their next chapter.
