The First Meeting

The Pretty Woman actress described to Variety how she felt when first meeting the New Yorker. 'I was so excited and intimidated about meeting Chloe,' shared Roberts

Roberts shared with Variety how she felt when first meeting the acclaimed New Yorker. "I was so excited and intimidated by meeting Chloe," confessed the 57-year-old Roberts, clearly still starstruck by her co-star's presence. And it seems like we're not alone; an insider close to the production revealed that Sevigny has a reputation for being one of the most intimidating actresses in Hollywood.

The Kitchen Table Revelation

As our story goes, the Pretty Woman actress was rehearsing lines with her castmates at her home when Sevigny arrived on the scene. "Allan came in and said Chloe should just be here in a couple minutes," Roberts recalled, still visibly shaken by the memory. "And then I looked up, and Ayo and we matched eyes... it was like time stopped." It's clear that Sevigny's presence had an instant impact on her co-stars - even Hazel, Julia's daughter, was so intimidated that she fled through the garage!

Sevigny Brings Tears of Joy

But things got really emotional when Sevigny made a heartfelt confession to Roberts during their group interview. "Can I say something?" Sevigny began, before revealing her admiration for Roberts' body of work. "When we left, I needed more Julia. On the plane ride home, I watched like three of your movies... and I just wanted more!" The waterworks began as Roberts tearfully admitted to being touched by her co-star's words.

Sevigny continued to praise Roberts' talent, saying, "I was like, 'I'm not ready to say goodbye.' Luckily there's a whole canon I can go home and keep watching." The two actresses formed an instant bond, which only grew stronger as they spent more time together. Sevigny even revealed that she felt close to Roberts from the very beginning - so much so that she invited herself over for rehearsals at their beach house.

The Crew Can't Get Enough of Julia

Director Luca Guadagnino sang Julia's praises during their interview, describing her as "an incredible cook" who whips up mean salmon and banana bread. But it's not just her culinary skills that have won the hearts of those around her - Guadagnino also revealed that Roberts is an absolute sweetheart on set.

"You have to know something about Julia," he gushed. "She's a friend, she's a mother, she cares for people. Spending time with her in their private life is amazing... Being in the house is amazing. Doing things with Julia is amazing." And it seems like these aren't just empty words; an insider revealed that Roberts has been spotted bonding with crew members over coffee breaks and rehearsing lines well into the night.

Roberts Opens Up About Her New Film

As for her new film, Roberts admitted that getting into character was no easy feat. "The hardest part for me was not being sympathetic and empathetic," she confessed, revealing that Sevigny's complex character pushed her out of her comfort zone. "For me as a person, it's like, 'Oh, how can I hold her?' And she was not to be held."

The High Praise Continues

But Roberts didn't stop there - she also gave some serious props to another co-star: Michael. "I don't mean to single you out, but I go into these scenes with Michael, and I just turn to Luca and I'm like, 'Are you f*ing kidding me?' What he's doing is so unexpected and original... it's like I'm not even in the scene anymore." With praise like this coming from the queen of Hollywood herself, it's clear that Sevigny has left her mark on Roberts' heart - and career.

The Verdict

It seems like we're not alone in our admiration for these talented ladies. Whether they're stealing scenes or cooking up a storm, Julia Roberts and Chloe Sevigny are proving that even the biggest stars can be kind, vulnerable, and hilarious - just like us!
