In a provocative new photo shoot for CR Fashion Book magazine, 31-year-old actress Julia Garner pays homage to Madonna's iconic early 1990s style, leaving little to the imagination. The "Ozark" star strips down to a tiny black Gucci bra, paired with matching hot pants and tights from the luxury brand, as she poses seductively on a chair in photos shot by Erika Kamano.
The bleach-blonde beauty's short crop of hair is styled in wispy, curled tufts, perfectly capturing Madonna's signature edgy chic. It's no secret that Garner has been tapped to play the Queen of Pop in an upcoming biopic, and her latest spread is sure to get fans even more excited for the project.
Just weeks ago, Garner confirmed that the biopic was still in production, despite a series of delays. "I can't say too much about it, but yes, it's a work in progress," she revealed to W Magazine earlier this month. In an Instagram post, Madonna shared her frustration over roadblocks in getting the film made, writing, "After struggling for days in LA, listening to producers and agents tell me why I couldn’t make my film, I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged."
The Queen of Pop continued, "I had been working on it for 4 years, and people kept telling me to 'downsize, downscale, think smaller.' But I'm not one to play by the rules. I've always been a rebel, and I won't let anyone tell me how to make my film."
It's clear that Madonna is determined to bring her story to life on the big screen, no matter what it takes. And with Julia Garner set to star as herself in the biopic, we can't wait to see how the project comes together.
In a recent interview with CR Fashion Book, Garner opened up about her childhood dreams of becoming an actress. "I grew up watching so many films and going to art museums," she revealed. "Art and philosophy were so important to me."
But what really sparked Julia's passion for acting? Her sister, who was also involved in the arts. "My sister did it, but she was not shy at all," Garner explained. "I don't know what a 14-year-old feels like, why they want to do it initially. But I did it because I liked how it made my heart and soul feel."
Interestingly, Julia admitted that acting actually felt like a safe space for her. "It wasn’t because I wanted that teenage attention," she said. "If anything, I was not comfortable getting attention. I felt like acting was actually hiding for me, in a weird way, because it wasn’t me."
