The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards: A Night of Glamour, Drama, and Historic Wins

Last night was a night to remember for the stars of the small screen as they gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. The who's who of Hollywood came dressed to impress, with Jude Law looking dapper in a dark suit, turning heads on the red carpet.

The Young Pope star, 52, was there to present the Outstanding Supporting Actor prize, and he nailed it, sporting an elegant number by Bironi paired with classic black patent-leather shoes. He flashed his famous smile as he posed for photos, no doubt making fans swoon.

Meanwhile, Noah Wyle was giving us major #ComebackKing vibes as he led new medical drama The Pitt to top honors at the award show. The former E.R. star earned his first-ever Emmy in the Best Actor category for his work on The Pitt, beating out heavy competition from Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Pedro Pascal (The Last Of Us), and Adam Scott (Severance).

But Noah wasn't the only one bringing home some serious hardware – Netflix's limited series Adolescence swept up an impressive eight awards, including a win for Owen Cooper, who became the youngest-ever male winner in any acting category. The 15-year-old British actor took home the coveted Best Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie award for his work on Adolescence.

In one of the most memorable moments of the night, Jean Smart made history by winning her third Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in HBO Max comedy Hacks. She beat out some stiff competition from Uzo Aduba (The Residence), Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear).

But the biggest winner of the night was, without a doubt, AppleTV+ series The Studio, which took home an impressive 13 Primetime Emmys, including Best Comedy Series. Host Seth Rogen brought his signature humor to the stage as he accepted the award, joking that it's "way more fun" winning than being nominated.

And speaking of historic wins, Cristin Milioti made headlines when she earned a coveted Emmy for her role in The Penguin – and she didn't hold back on her emotions, tearing up on stage as she accepted her award. But Owen Cooper stole the show (and our hearts) with his sweet victory, becoming the youngest male actor to ever earn an Emmy.
