Buckle Up, Folks! Josh Duhamel's Son Axl is Turning 12 and Dad's Already Preparing for the Drama

In a sneak peek into the world of pre-teen parenting, Hollywood heartthrob Josh Duhamel, 52, opened up about his experience as a dad to an almost-tween. The Ransom Canyon star, who traded in Tinseltown glamour for a simpler life in Minnesota, revealed that his son Axl's trip to summer camp has already given him a taste of what's to come.

Axl, who shares his birthday with Josh this month (he'll turn 12 on the 29th), is reportedly smitten with a girl he met at camp. "He really wants to see her again," Duhamel told The Scholarly Note in an exclusive interview. And we can only imagine the impending doom that comes with having a pre-teen crush – the drama, the angst, the constant worrying about what your child is up to.

'I have an 11-year-old who just went to camp in Minnesota and met a girl he really likes.' the Las Vegas star told People of his son Axl, whom he shares with ex-wife Fergie

When asked how he plans to navigate this treacherous terrain, Josh quipped, "Dude! You're not even 12!" But don't worry, folks, he's got it under control. Or at least, he thinks he does. After all, as a parent of two young sons (Axl and his toddler son Shepherd, with wife Audra Mari), Duhamel knows that the teenage years are just around the corner.

"I have an 11-year-old who just went to camp in Minnesota and met a girl he really likes," Josh explained. "He really wants to see this girl again from camp. I'm like, 'Dude! You're not even 12.' So, that's going to be parent-supervised." Ah, we can almost smell the impending doom of parental anxiety wafting through the air.

But don't think for a second that Josh is unprepared for the challenges ahead. He's been training his son Axl on how to drive, of all things! "I'm already kind of training him," Duhamel said with a chuckle. "I'll put him in my lap and teach him, 'Okay, this is what you do, and this is what you look for, this is what you've got to scan,' just to start getting him accustomed to what it takes to actually handle the responsibility of being a driver." We shudder at the thought of Axl behind the wheel, but hey, at least Josh is trying.

Duhamel is also dad to son Shepherd, 18 months, whom he shares with his wife Audra Mari, 31. Having a son with a crush is 'a new one for me, as a parent, anyway. But I get it, I've been there,' he said

Despite his best efforts to prepare his son for the trials and tribulations of adolescence, Josh can't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. "I want to get that in his head as soon as possible," he said, referring to the importance of driving responsibility. But we suspect there's more to it than just teaching Axl how to drive – after all, Duhamel is a seasoned actor who knows how to convey vulnerability on screen.

Speaking of which, Josh has been keeping busy with various projects, including his upcoming film London Calling, which hits theaters September 19. In the movie, he plays a down-on-his-luck hitman who flees the UK and must teach his new boss' son to be a man. Sounds like a role tailor-made for a seasoned actor like Duhamel.

But what about Axl's summer camp adventure? Did Josh have any fun with his son while they were away from home? As it turns out, yes! The father-son duo took in an Arsenal game in North London (where Josh was promoting Preschool earlier this year) and even got Axl a team jersey. "Took my boy to an @arsenal game in North London this weekend," Duhamel shared on social media.

We can only imagine the looks on their faces when they walked into the stadium, both clad in Arsenal gear. But we're guessing Josh was more interested in teaching his son about the intricacies of soccer than just showing off their team spirit. After all, as a seasoned actor, he knows how to convey emotion on screen – but as a father, he's still figuring out how to navigate the complex world of pre-teen parenting.

And there you have it, folks – a sneak peek into the world of Josh Duhamel and his soon-to-be teenager Axl. Stay tuned for more updates from The Scholarly Note!
