JoJo Siwa's Pride Performance Cancelled: Was it due to Scheduling Conflict or Something More?

The news is out, and JoJo Siwa fans are in shock! The 22-year-old pop sensation has cancelled her performance at Saturday's Pride celebration in Chicago, leaving many wondering if there's more to the story than just a "scheduling conflict." As reported by Back Lot Bash Chicago on Instagram Stories, JoJo Siwa will no longer be performing at their event.

But why would JoJo Siwa, who defines herself as queer and has been open about her personal struggles with pressure from within the LGBTQ+ community, suddenly cancel her performance? Just a day prior to the cancellation, JoJo revealed in an interview with TheScholarlyNote.com that she felt pressured into calling herself a lesbian.

The organization putting on the event made the announcement in its Instagram Stories early Saturday

"When I came out at 17, I said: 'I'm pansexual, because I don't care [about gender].' But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: 'I'm a lesbian.' And I think I did that because of pressure,' she confessed. JoJo has been open about her relationships with women since coming out in February 2021.

But what could have caused the cancellation? Was it just a scheduling conflict, or was there something more going on behind the scenes? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain - JoJo Siwa's absence from the Pride celebration has left fans wondering and eagerly awaiting an explanation.

In other news, JoJo Siwa's personal life has been making headlines lately. The singer revealed that she met her current love interest, Chris Hughes, 32, while competing on Celebrity Big Brother UK. The TV presenter even defended JoJo against homophobic comments made by fellow contestant Mickey Rourke, 72. The two have since become close friends and "platonic soulmates," before eventually developing a romantic relationship.

The cancellation came one day after Siwa revealed in an interview with Daily Mail that she felt pressured into identifying as a lesbian, even though she had originally come out as pansexual;  Pictured in London on June 2

But what's really got fans buzzing is the revelation that Chris Hughes is more than just a publicity stunt for JoJo Siwa. In an interview with TheScholarlyNote.com, JoJo gushed about her partner, saying, 'I'll just say that it took time. It took time away and then it took time together.' She even went so far as to call Chris "the favourite part of my life."

For those who think the couple is just a PR stunt, JoJo has some harsh words: 'Clearly, you've never been around us. I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now,' she told TheScholarlyNote.com. 'Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.'

It seems that JoJo Siwa's love life is more than just a publicity stunt. But what about her music career? Fans were shocked to learn that JoJo has been dropped by record label Columbia just one year after being signed.

Siwa is currently in a relationship with UK TV presenter Chris Hughes, 32. The two met while competing on Celebrity Big Brother UK

As for the future, JoJo hinted at upcoming shows in Europe and even teased that she might be staying in the UK for longer. With her cancelled performance at the Pride celebration in Chicago, fans are left wondering what's next for this talented singer.

Stay tuned for more updates on JoJo Siwa's love life, music career, and personal struggles. Will we see her back on stage soon? Only time will tell!

Siwa postponed the US leg of her tour earlier this month, hinting that more European dates might be added instead. The news comes amid the news Columbia Records had dropped her;  Pictured in London in June 2024
