JoJo Siwa Craves Wedding: Navigating Love and Criticism
JOJO SIWA SPEWS TEA ON HER ROMANCE WITH CHRIS HUGHES AND THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY!
Get ready for a juicy dose of celebrity gossip, as JoJo Siwa dishes out all the tea on her whirlwind romance with Chris Hughes and the drama that's unfolded within the LGBTQ+ community!
The 22-year-old pop sensation has been making waves in the entertainment industry for years, but it seems she's finally found love with the 32-year-old former Love Island star. The two met while residing in the Celebrity Big Brother house back in April and have been inseparable ever since.
But what's really got tongues wagging is JoJo's candid conversation on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast about her relationship with Chris. And let me tell you, she's not holding back!
"I'm happy," JoJo gushes to Josh. "I've never wanted the future so bad. I've never, ever wanted the love that I have to just continue to grow." She confesses that she's never felt this way about anyone before and is now craving a traditional wedding with her beau. Talk about a drastic change of heart!
"I want a ring, I want my Dad to walk me down the aisle, I want our first dance, and I want butterflies," JoJo says, sounding like a lovesick teenager. "I'm happy." Who can blame her? She's got a dashing partner by her side and is clearly head over heels in love!
But things take a dramatic turn when JoJo opens up about the backlash she's received from within the LGBTQ+ community. Yes, you read that right – from within! It seems some members of the community have been bullying JoJo for dating a man after publicly embracing same-sex relationships.
"I've experienced a brutal backlash," JoJo reveals. "It feels like my own family has turned on me. I think we are the LGBTQIA+ family, not just the LG community... The number one saying of the queer community is 'love is love.' And that goes both ways."
Ouch! It seems some folks within the community have been quick to judge and criticize JoJo for her new relationship, even going so far as to bully her in public. But JoJo's not having it – she's speaking out against this toxic behavior and urging others to think twice about their words.
"It's hard because it feels like my own family has turned a little bit," JoJo says, visibly shaken by the experience. "And I think people need to watch it because I can take it, but other people can't and that's tough."
But what really gets JoJo is how this behavior affects young people within the community who are still figuring out their identities and relationships.
"I think older people in the community need to realize the way you treat me in this situation doesn't affect me at all," JoJo says. "I'm very happy, I'm very loved... Who it's affecting is the people who are years younger than me seeing what you're saying about me."
She adds that these young individuals might feel pressured to conform to certain expectations or relationships because of the criticism they see directed towards JoJo.
"It doesn't affect me, but it affects the people that are not me that see the bullying," JoJo emphasizes. "I think people need to be cautious about the words... It's not just with sexuality, it's not just with me and my sexuality and my relationship, it's with everything."
As for Chris, he seems over the moon in love with JoJo – posting adorable photos of the two together on Instagram after attending a pal's wedding in London. The 32-year-old even captioned one snap: "A beautiful wedding in the city. Congratulation Mr & Mrs Lewis!"
