John Lithgow Transforms into Dumbledore: The Magic Returns to Cornwall

John Lithgow is seen as Dumbledore for the first time as he arrived on the Harry Potter TV series set in Cornwall on Wednesday morning

SPILL THE BEANS, HARRY POTTER FANS!

The highly-anticipated HBO series is finally underway, and we've got the scoop on what's really going down behind the scenes!

Iconic actor John Lithgow has been spotted donning his Hogwarts robes as he transforms into the beloved Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. The 79-year-old actor looked completely unrecognizable in the iconic role, sporting a long white beard and hair, paired with glasses and velvet blue trousers.

But that's not all - Lithgow revealed that landing the role came as a "total surprise" to him, and he was hesitant at first due to his age. However, he couldn't resist the opportunity to join the magical world of Harry Potter, saying, "Some wonderful people are turning their attention back to Harry Potter... I'll be about 87 years old at the wrap party, but I've said yes!"

Meanwhile, the cast and crew have been taking extreme measures to keep the project under wraps. Phones are banned on set, and cast members have been given codewords like "Dark Train" and "Brown Cat" to refer to the series instead of its actual title.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves - let's talk about the sets! A whopping £4million has been invested in creating an immersive experience for fans. The Hogsmeade Station and Hogwarts Express are just a few of the mind-blowing features that will transport you straight to the wizarding world.

John looked worlds away from himself wearing the professor's long grey hair, beard and moustache as well as his wizarding robes and glasses

Of course, no Harry Potter series would be complete without the main characters themselves. Dominic McLaughlin has landed the coveted role of Harry Potter, with Arabella Stanton playing Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. But who's going to play the infamous Lord Voldemort? Sources close to the production reveal that HBO are considering both male and female stars for the role.

We can't help but wonder - will it be a surprise appearance from Ralph Fiennes, or perhaps someone entirely new? The suspense is killing us!

But amidst all the excitement, there's been some controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling's involvement in the series as executive producer. Her views on transgender issues have sparked outrage among fans and fellow stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

Adding to his incredible costume, John wore a puff sleeved blue shirt, a matching waistcoat with a gold pocket watch and velvet blue trousers

Rowling has faced backlash for her stance on trans women not being legally recognized as women, with many calling out her "transphobic" views. In a shocking move, she even celebrated the Supreme Court's ruling with a photo of herself puffing a cigar on her $150 million superyacht!

As the series prepares to bring magic back to our screens, we can't help but wonder - will this new adaptation be able to redeem Rowling's reputation in the eyes of fans? Only time (and the show) will tell.

EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK

We've managed to get a sneak peek at some of the cast members' reactions to the series. According to insiders, Warwick Davis is thrilled to be reprising his role as Professor Filius Flitwick - "He's like a kid in a candy store," says a source close to the production.

But that's not all - Janet McTeer has been spotted on set, playing none other than Minerva McGonagall. We can't wait to see her bring the iconic character to life!

As filming continues in the picturesque village of Cadgwith on The Lizard, fans are going wild trying to get a glimpse of the cast and crew in action. But with secrets being kept under wraps like never before, it's anyone's guess what we'll be seeing when the show finally drops.
