John Cusimano Celebrates 'Forever Love' with Rachael Ray Amid Concerns
RACHAEL RAY CELEBRATES 57TH BIRTHDAY WITH TENDER TRIBUTES FROM HUSBAND AND CELEB FRIENDS
The bubbly and beloved celebrity chef, Rachael Ray, marked a major milestone on Monday - her 57th birthday! And to make the day even sweeter, her devoted husband of 20 years, John M. Cusimano, showered his wife with a heartwarming tribute on Instagram.
However, in recent times, fans have been growing increasingly concerned about Ray's well-being. In September last year, she sparked health worries after appearing slurred in a video that left many scratching their heads. Furthermore, an insider spilled the tea to The Scholarly Note recently that Ray had been acting strangely during a June appearance at the Broadway Spirits store in Manhattan.
According to the source, things got off to a rocky start when there were only 20 fans waiting in line for the signing event, but it seemed like Ray's behavior was more concerning than her lack of fan turnout. Despite these concerns, Cusimano has been quick to brush them aside as he wished his wife a happy birthday this week.
The loving husband took to Instagram and shared a classic black-and-white photo of Ray beaming with joy as she devoured a plate of spaghetti, captured by the renowned photographer Simon Emmett. Alongside the adorable snap, Cusimano penned a sweet message: "Happy birthday to Rachael Ray, my forever love and forever home, wherever we may be."
Ray didn't hesitate to return the love by liking her husband's post on Instagram and sharing it with her own followers on Monday. In addition to Cusimano's heartfelt tribute, Ray also shared other birthday wishes from her friends in the industry.
One of those special well-wishers was former Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper, who appeared on Ray's short-lived podcast last year, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. Harper sent a photo of Ray proudly holding up a tray of meatballs and wrote: "I love you, dear friend." Ray also re-posted a message from the Leary Firefighters Foundation, where she serves as a member of their board.
The birthday tributes come after Ray dished out all the juicy details about her relationship with Cusimano during a podcast appearance. On iHeart's I've Never Said This Before podcast with Tommy DiDario, Ray revealed that she couldn't wait to get intimate with her husband - and it seems like Cusimano is still feeling the love.
Ray shared a racy anecdote from their 2005 wedding at a castle in Tuscany, Italy: "I had to buy two different sized suits for our wedding from Prada because his jacket was one size and his trouser was another... I certainly am - I am a very lucky lady."
The lovebirds reaffirmed their commitment to each other ten years after their initial vows at the same castle in the Florence region. On her podcast, Ray also opened up about the "huge screaming matches" she gets into with Cusimano.
Ray confessed: "John and I don't calm it down ever. We have huge screaming matches all the time. But I think that's healthy, I really do, and I don't trust people that are too quiet... Too quiet freaks me out." When her guest, Jenny Mollen asked whether Ray or Cusimano says sorry first after a fight, Ray shared: "I don't know that we ever apologize to each other."
The celebrity chef explained that the couple has a nonverbal way of mending fences after a disagreement. "Eventually, I pat him on his a* or he kisses me on the head, and that's just sort of it," she said. "That's the apology. It's just sort of understood: 'All right. I still like your a*.' 'I still like your head.' It's kind of in that zone."
