JLo Channels Madonna: Fans Rave Over Blonde Bombshell Transformation in 'Kiss of the Spider Woman'
JENNIFER LOPEZ STEALS THE SHOW IN KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN TRAILER, WHILE ALSO RECALLING PAST DIVORCE HEARTACHE
The queen of Hollywood, Jennifer Lopez, has finally given us a glimpse into her upcoming movie, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and let's just say she's looking STUNNING! The 56-year-old actress took to social media on Wednesday to share the first official trailer for the film, which left fans absolutely GAGGING!
But what's even more juicy is that this comes at a time when JLo is reflecting on her past heartbreak. It has been ONE YEAR since she filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, who just so happens to be a producer on the very same movie! Talk about awkward.
However, we're not here to focus on the drama (although, let's be real, it's hard not to). We're here to dish out all the juicy details about JLo's latest project. And trust us, she looks FLAWLESS as the imaginary figure Aurora in this film!
Fans were absolutely OBSESSED with her new blonde look, with many commenting that she resembles Jean Harlow mixed with Gwen Stefani (yep, you read that right). Some even joked that she's channeling her inner Madonna from the 90s Blonde Ambition tour - and honestly, we can see why! Never thought Jennifer Lopez could look like Madonna, but she does!
But what really caught our attention was when JLo shared a small glimpse into her mindset during filming. She revealed to Out magazine this week that Kiss of the Spider Woman was one of the most beautiful movie-making experiences she's ever had - and also at a difficult time in her life.
"It was just something that... filled a part of me that was waiting to kind of come alive for so long," JLo shared, opening up about her experience. And honestly, it's no wonder she felt that way - the trailer is giving us LIFE!
So what's Kiss of the Spider Woman all about? Well, it's based on Manuel Puig's 1976 novel of the same name and was adapted into a Broadway musical in 1993. The movie follows Valentín, a political prisoner, who forms an unlikely bond with Luis Molina (played by Tonatiuh), a jailed gay hairdresser.
Together, they share a cell, where Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva - that's where JLo comes in as Aurora! And let us tell you, she slays in her flashy 1950s-style gowns and dance numbers. We're talking full-on Hollywood glamour, folks!
The movie premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January and will be released in theaters on October 10th - mark your calendars, people!
In an interview with Out magazine, JLo opened up about the plot of the movie: "This very intense experience they have of being locked in the cell together and helping each other survive, they're able to see straight into [the] humanity in one another and fall in love."
When asked what she thinks is the real definition of love, JLo declared, "To me, that is the real definition of love." Aww, Jennifer!
So there you have it - JLo's latest project is going to be a wild ride, and we can't wait to see it!
