JESSICA SIMPSON SINGS HER HEART OUT: NEW TRACK "FADE" SEEMS TO TAKE AIM AT EX-ERIC JOHNSON IN HEATED BREAKUP BATTLE

Get ready for a juicy dose of celebrity drama! Pop icon Jessica Simpson has just dropped a brand new single, "Fade," and it appears to be a scathing indictment of her estranged husband Eric Johnson's alleged infidelity.

The 45-year-old singer-songwriter (and actress) is fresh off the heels of announcing her split from the former NFL star, and it seems like she's not holding back when it comes to expressing her feelings. In fact, "Fade" seems to be a thinly veiled attack on Johnson's behavior during their decade-long marriage.

The singer, 45, dropped a new track titled Fade on Tuesday, in which she opened up more about her recent heartbreak, seemingly directed at her marriage to the football player; pictured June 2023 in Los Angeles

The lyrics are downright blistering: "You can always say you love me / That doesn't mean that I feel loved / There's a green light in the distance / And all your words become too much." Ouch!

But wait, it gets even juicier! Simpson goes on to sing about how she walked away from the relationship and left Johnson waiting for her. "You can just wait on me / I won't be around / Watching you fade on me / Your words mean nothing now."

And if that's not enough, she also seems to be addressing the rumors of Johnson's infidelity, saying: "I have way too good a memory / I have no more heart to break / You're as empty as your promise / Go sleep alone in the bed you made." Yikes!

In the song, she hinted at 'empty promises' her past lover once told her before their relationship ended. In the chorus, the actress crooned about how she walked away and left her ex waiting on her and declared that his words mean 'nothing' to her now

The songwriting process behind "Fade" was apparently quite emotional for Simpson. In an interview with The Scholarly Note, she revealed that the track came from a "heavy, emotional moment" and that she wrote it while still reeling from her recent heartbreak.

"I had just lived through this heavy, emotional moment, but there was no way I was gonna cancel my songwriting session," she said. "I walked into the studio with tears still on my cheeks, and what came out was a prayer."

So, is Simpson's new music a reaction to Johnson's alleged cheating? We can't say for sure, but it's definitely fueling speculation.

While she did not name her estranged husband in the song, she was notably married to Johnson for 10 years before they separated several months ago. They share three kids; pictured February 2020 in New York City

In related news, Simpson recently opened up about her dating life in an interview with The Scholarly Note. When asked if she was ready to move on romantically, she replied: "It's a rough road in the dating world." Ouch!

But don't worry, guys – Simpson didn't rule out being set up by a friend. "I would love for a friend to set me up," she said with a smile.

For now, it seems like Simpson is focused on promoting her new music and moving forward from her painful breakup. Stay tuned for more updates on this drama-filled celebrity divorce!

In her new song Fade, she sang about how her former spouse made too many mistakes and broke her heart too many times. She later explained her song Fade 'is about watching someone you love slip away in real time, while trying to hold on to something that's already gone'
