Jeremy Clarkson's Battle with Health: From Heart Scare to New Challenges

Jeremy Clarkson, 65, has given supporters an update on his health just months after he had a brush up with death

Jeremy Clarkson Gives Health Update: "I'm 65, Not Dead Yet!"

The king of motoring and rural escapades, Jeremy Clarkson, has given his loyal followers a health update, and it's not what you'd expect from a man who's had a brush with death just months ago. The former Top Gear presenter, now 65, has been keeping a close eye on his health after a life-threatening scare last year.

In an exclusive interview with thescholarlynote.com, Jeremy revealed that he's currently dealing with a trapped nerve in his back, which is making everyday activities a challenge. However, as any car enthusiast knows, driving can be quite... unpredictable. Speaking about his recent adventures behind the wheel of a Mercedes G 580, Jeremy quipped, "It pitches and rolls all the time, and you never have any idea what it's going to do next. So, you can't ever brave yourself. Getting out of this (the G 580) and back into Lisa's Range Rover was like getting out of an economy seat on a new airline called Air Turbulent and into a bed at the world's most peaceful hotel."

The former Top Gear presenter has already begun filming for series five of Clarkson's Farm following the success of the recently released season four (pictured with Kaleb Cooper)

But let's get down to business – Jeremy's health has been a concern for quite some time. After a particularly grueling filming schedule for Clarkson's Farm, series four saw him become "more and more ill" while preparing for the opening of his new Farmer's Dog pub. The situation took a turn for the worse when he had to undergo urgent surgery to hold his arteries open and improve blood flow to his heart.

Jeremy has always been known for his candid opinions on life, food, and everything in between. In an earlier column for thescholarlynote.com, he shared some hilarious – yet concerning – anecdotes about his recent medical check-ups. He admitted that he underwent a series of tests, including cardiovascular and liver checks, ultrasound, and MRI scans, but it was the prostate exam that left him bewildered.

A prostate exam is not for the faint of heart (or backside, for that matter). Jeremy wrote with tongue-in-cheek humor: "They can photograph your ventricles and every bit of your brain, but if they want to know what's going on with your prostate, which lives in the anus, for some reason, the doctor has to put his finger in there. I can only assume it's because he likes it."

After a worrying health scare last year in which he came 'days from death', the Diddly Squat farmer is now suffering with a 'trapped nerve' in his back

The truth is, Jeremy knows that these check-ups are crucial, especially when you've lost friends to prostate cancer. He confessed: "I've had too many friends go down with prostate cancer, and all it takes to get on top of the situation early is a moment or two of being a bit cross-eyed. You get the all-clear and the doc goes home happy. What's not to like?"

Fast forward to the present day, Jeremy has been working hard on his fitness – and by that, we mean he's been trying to drop some pounds. As he prepares for series five of Clarkson's Farm, fans will be relieved (and possibly entertained) to know that he's made significant progress in getting healthier.

Jeremy admitted that he tried Ozempic to manage his weight but ended up feeling unwell and gained half a stone in the process. He then turned to microdosing Mounjaro, which has done wonders for his appetite and blood sugar levels. "Microdosing" is essentially taking small doses of medication to help regulate hunger and blood sugar – a clever strategy that's been gaining attention lately.

Despite losing almost two stone in the last six months after turning to Mounjaro, Clarkson admitted that his wife Lisa Hogan (right) has 'given up' on making him look presentable

So, what does Jeremy's girlfriend Lisa Hogan think about his new look? Well, according to the lovable presenter: "Lisa's given up on trying to make me look presentable. I mean, I've never heard such nonsense. Trimming eyebrows? What does it matter? I'm 65, it's not like I'm David Gandy."

Jeremy has indeed lost almost two stone and is sporting a healthier appearance – but don't expect him to start taking selfies anytime soon: "I think I eat pretty well, I just drink too much – that's the essence of it. If I could just do something about that, but then I think, 'what's the point?'"

There you have it, folks! Jeremy Clarkson might be getting on in years, but he's not done yet. With a renewed focus on his health and a willingness to poke fun at himself, this motoring icon is still going strong – and for that, we're eternally grateful.
