Jax Taylor's Apology Tour: Is It Too Little, Too Late?
JAX TAYLOR'S APOLOGY TOUR: Reality Star's Messy Past on Full Display as He Grovels for Forgiveness
The drama never ends when it comes to Jax Taylor, and his latest stint on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen was no exception. The 45-year-old reality star, fresh from his tumultuous split from Brittany Cartwright, appeared alongside Tom Schwartz on Tuesday's episode of the hit show.
As Jax took the stage, host Andy Cohen couldn't help but acknowledge that many people were still fuming over his controversial behavior on Vanderpump Rules and now The Valley. And, boy, did Jax have some 'splainin' to do!
The self-proclaimed "control freak" spent most of the episode apologizing for his questionable actions, from verbally abusing Brittany to spying on her with security cameras. Yep, you read that right – Jax admitted to setting up security cameras in their home to keep tabs on his ex-wife!
When asked about his infamous rage texts to Britney, Jax claimed he was just trying to get a reaction out of her. "I wanted to see if she cared," he said, adding that his phone addiction and lack of self-control were major factors in his behavior.
But it wasn't all apologies and regrets; Jax also had some choice words for those who criticized him for being on the show in the first place. When Andy mentioned Kristen Doute's comment that she didn't think he should be appearing on WWHL, Jax sniped back, "I didn't know she was the boss!"
The drama didn't stop there; when asked about his lies to Janet and Jason about the house mortgage, Jax confessed that he had been struggling with addiction and wanted to regain control over the situation. Yeah, okay, Jax – we get it.
But what really got fans talking was Jax's admission that his biggest regret is not ending his marriage sooner. "I think this should have been over a long time ago," he said, adding that he wishes he had left Brittany sooner.
Meanwhile, Tom Schwartz, Jax's former Vanderpump Rules co-star, offered his two cents on the situation. While he acknowledged that Jax's behavior was "pathetic" at times, he also gave credit to Jax for his 201 days of sobriety and admitted that he doesn't think Taylor has changed yet.
As the episode came to a close, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on Jax's apology tour. Some, like @erinheartscoco, were left feeling "gross" and "disappointed" by Bravo's decision to platform an abusive reality star like Jax.
Others, like @brownboywriting, pointed out that Jax getting a WWHL appearance after his history of abuse is a clear example of Bravo supporting toxic behavior. And let's not forget the Change.org petition started on Tuesday, calling for Jax to be removed from television for his offensive conduct!
So, what do you think, Scholary Note readers? Is Jax's apology enough to redeem him in your eyes, or do you think he still has some major growing up to do? Let us know in the comments!
