SCANDALOUS! Jason Momoa Brings His Family Affair to the Red Carpet for Apple TV+ Series Premiere!
The island of Oahu, Hawaii was abuzz with excitement as A-list actor Jason Momoa stepped out onto the red carpet with his two teenaged children in tow. But don't worry, this isn't your typical family affair – there's drama, glamour, and more than a little bit of Hawaiian flair!
Momoa, 45, was joined by his 16-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf and 17-year-old daughter Lola (who turns 18 on Monday, yikes!) for the premiere of his new Apple TV+ series Chief of War. The event was a proud moment for the actor, who shares both of his children with ex-wife Lisa Bonet, 57 – but don't worry, there were no tears or tantrums in sight (that we know of, at least!).
The action hero turned out in full force, rocking a dashing black, red, and yellow feathered cape over his tight black T-shirt and dark pants. Yes, you read that right – a cape! Tan boots, a matching belt, and dark sunglasses completed the look, making him look like a total boss.
But Momoa's kids were not to be outdone. Lola stunned in a brown maxi-dress with asymmetrical cut-outs, paired with a mini-cape of her own (because what's a red carpet premiere without a little bit of drama?). Her dark hair was styled in natural curls, and she wore subtle makeup that let her stunning features take center stage.
Nakoa-Wolf, meanwhile, rocked a black tank top and pants combo, topped off with his own cape (which he draped over one arm like a total pro) and a traditional whale tooth necklace. Talk about a stylish teenager!
And then there was Adria Arjona, 33 – Momoa's girlfriend and star of the Apple TV+ series Andor. She dazzled in an apricot-hued halter dress that showed off her toned arms and legs (hello, beach bod!). Her dark hair fell in natural waves down her back, and she wore subtle makeup with a soft pink lip.
So what's Chief of War all about? Well, it's a nine-episode series that follows Momoa as he plays the role of Ka'iana, a war chief who joins a bloody campaign to unite warring islands against the colonizers who will eventually take over their homes. It's a story that's deeply personal to Momoa, who co-created, stars in, and serves as an executive producer on the show.
The series was shot on location in Hawaii and New Zealand, and it's hoped that it will not only result in more film and TV production in the state but also celebrate its rich history. As Momoa told KHON, "This is how we're going to pass it down, because a lot of things have been lost... To me, this kicks down the door and I feel like the next generation's going to make it better than us... you can tell those stories, and these are just the first, not the last... we have so many things to tell."
