Jared Leto's Career Plummets After 'Tron: Ares' Flop

Jared Leto is destined for the Hollywood junkyard after the embarrassing failure of his new movie Tron: Ares, insiders say

The Tron: Ares Trainwreck: How Jared Leto's Reputation Has Taken a Beating

It's official, folks! Hollywood has finally declared Jared Leto box office poison after his latest debacle, Tron: Ares, tanked at the box office with a paltry $33.5 million opening weekend gross. The 53-year-old star's career is in shambles, and insiders are saying it's time to start singing "Taps" for his Tinseltown tenure.

Industry experts have come out swinging, branding Leto's stock as "badly-damaged" after the Disney movie's lackluster performance. One talent manager blasted, "In a world where Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, and Benedict Cumberbatch are struggling to land lead roles, why on earth would you even consider casting someone who can't open a movie? It's like putting lipstick on a pig – it just doesn't cut it!"

Leto is seen here in the latest installment of the film franchise, which has so far not lived up to financial expectations

The same insider pointed out that Leto is no Ryan Gosling, adding, "No one asked for this reboot. If you're going to say, 'Tron: Ares is good; we just needed a different actor,' then you're deluding yourself." Ouch! The knives are out, and they're not even trying to be subtle.

Leto's payday for Tron: Ares was reportedly in the high seven figures, with another seven-figure producing fee thrown in for good measure. However, it seems those lavish paydays are now firmly in the rearview mirror for this tarnished star. Experts warn that such generous compensation packages will no longer be forthcoming.

But that's not all – Leto's personal life has also been a subject of controversy. A string of allegations have surfaced accusing him of being "sexually inappropriate" towards nine women, including teenage girls. DJ Allie Teilz came forward with her own harrowing tale of allegedly being forced by Leto into an uncomfortable situation when she was just 17 years old. Leto has consistently denied these claims, but the damage to his reputation is done.

The Tron franchise, which consists of the original 1981 movie and its 2010 reboot Tron: Legacy, is now on life support. Sources close to the project have revealed that the decision to cast a middle-aged star with a checkered past was a recipe for disaster. "It's like they took a perfectly good franchise and poured gasoline all over it," said one insider.

Screenwriter Jesse Wigutow, who worked on Tron: Ares, corroborated this account, stating that Leto was largely responsible for the movie getting the greenlight in the first place. Apparently, his passion project just wasn't meant to be.

Leto's career peaked with his Oscar-winning turn as Rayon in The Dallas Buyers Club in 2014, but it's been downhill ever since. His last major outing, Morbius, a 2022 Marvel superhero movie, was an equally embarrassing failure. That film cost $83 million to make and barely broke even.

As the numbers stack up against him, one thing is clear: Jared Leto's time in the spotlight is fading faster than you can say "Tron: Ares." Can he recover from this devastating blow? Only time will tell, but for now, it seems his reputation has taken a beating it won't soon forget.
