Jamie Lee Curtis Stepping into Angela Lansbury's Shoes for Murder, She Wrote Reboot!

JAMIE LEE CURTIS SET TO SLAY AS JESSICA FLETCHER IN MURDER, SHE WROTE REBOOT

In a shocking twist that's got everyone talking, Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed she'll be taking on the iconic role of mystery writer-turned-amateur detective Jessica Fletcher in the highly-anticipated reboot of the classic TV show Murder, She Wrote. And let's just say, she's more than just "very excited" about it!

The 66-year-old A-lister will be stepping into the shoes of the legendary Dame Angela Lansbury, who played the titular character from 1984 to 1996 and sadly passed away in 2022 at the ripe age of 96. Curtis will bring her own brand of sass and sophistication to the role, and we can't wait to see what she does with it.

When asked about the project on Entertainment Tonight, a beaming Curtis gushed: "Oh, it's... happening! We're just a minute away, but yeah, I'm very excited. Very excited!" However, she also revealed that she's trying to keep her enthusiasm in check until filming begins, saying "I have a couple of other things to hustle, but then I'll get to enjoy that work."

Murder, She Wrote was a beloved staple on television for 12 seasons, and Curtis is set to revive the character in a new film. But this isn't just any ordinary reboot - it's been years in the making, with NBC previously planning to revive the show with none other than Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer.

However, according to sources from as far back as 2014, the project was canned due to various reasons. It seems that Curtis is the new chosen one to bring Jessica Fletcher back to life on the big screen.

But what's even more juicy is that this isn't the only project Curtis has in the works! She's currently promoting her new movie Freakier Friday alongside Lindsay Lohan, a sequel to their 2003 comedy classic Freaky Friday. When asked about working with Lohan again, Curtis gushed: "She has taught me so much! She has her team, where her two people would be standing on either side of a camera holding a big light. It's Lindsay lighting - that would have been good branding!"

Curtis also revealed that she's learned a thing or two from Lohan during filming, saying "I've learned a lot from her already. We had a good time. We love each other." And it shows - the movie looks like a heartwarming and hilarious sequel to their original film.

But what about Curtis' other projects? She's got a TV version of Patricia Cornwell's book Scarpetta in the works, alongside none other than Nicole Kidman! That's right, folks - these two A-listers are set to star together in a thrilling drama. But that's not all - Curtis is also set to appear in scam movie Sender and spy drama Spychosis.

It seems like Curtis has her hands full with upcoming projects, but we can't wait to see what she does next! Whether it's slaying as Jessica Fletcher or starring alongside Nicole Kidman, one thing's for sure - Jamie Lee Curtis is on fire, and we're here for it!
