Is Jeff Bezos' Billion-Dollar Prenup Dance Set to Repeat with Lauren Sanchez?

The world's third-richest man, Jeff Bezos , is set to get married to his glamorous girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez in just days, and many have been left wondering if he has a prenup in place this time around. (Pictured: Bezos and Sanchez on May 22)

JEF-FEST 2023: BEZOS' BIG DAY

Get ready for the most anticipated wedding of the century! Jeff Bezos, the world's second-richest man, is tying the knot with his stunning girlfriend Lauren Sanchez in just a few days, and we've got all the juicy deets!

As you can imagine, the preparations are going full throttle, with around 90 private jets set to land in local airports this week, bringing A-listers from show business, politics, and finance to the extravaganza. But before we dive into the wedding shenanigans, let's talk about what really matters – the prenup!

Although it remains unclear if Bezos and Sanchez have a prenup in place, he did not have one with his previous wife, philanthropist Mackenzie Scott (pictured together in 2018).

Bezos, worth a whopping $200 billion, is reportedly not having one with Sanchez, unlike his previous marriage to philanthropist Mackenzie Scott, which ended in a divorce worth $35 billion (yes, you read that right!). But should he be worried? Absolutely! As Robert Cohen, a top New York attorney who's handled dozens of rich clients, told The Scholarly Note, "You don’t want them to have access to anything that would significantly change their wealth."

Cohen's team has worked with high-net-worth individuals on prenups, making sure the agreements are properly vetted by legal counsel to avoid any issues. "We have the agreements vetted by lawyers in those jurisdictions to make sure there’s not going to be a problem," he explained.

In fact, prenups can get so specific that some even detail what kind of exercise routine your spouse has to maintain (because, let's face it, who wants their partner to gain 10 pounds?). Other agreements set financial penalties for infidelity – we're talking $1 million payouts per affair!

Despite not knowing if the soon-to-be newly-weds have a prenup, several divorce attorneys said it would be the right move for Bezos, who is worth more than $200 billion, to not have one. (Pictured: Sanchez and Bezos arrive in Venice Wednesday)

Randall Kessler, an Atlanta-based divorce lawyer, revealed that many NBA players have prenups with cheating stipulations because "they are known to have affairs." Nancy Chemtob, a top divorce attorney based in New York, added that every single prenup is a "power play" – and we can't help but agree!

As Bezos and Sanchez prepare for their big day, the question on everyone's mind is: Will they have a prenup? Only time will tell. But one thing is certain – their wedding is going to be an event for the ages!

WEDDING DETAILS

The celebrations are expected to kick off on Thursday and end on Saturday. (Pictured: The couple waving as they arrive in a boat in Venice)

The happy couple arrived in Venice ahead of their blockbuster wedding on Wednesday, stepping off a boat and into the luxury Aman Hotel. They were joined by around 50 close friends and family members for a drinks reception with a playlist that featured romantic classics like "More Than a Woman" by the Bee Gees.

As they got ready to tie the knot, Bezos and Sanchez mingled with their guests while enjoying tunes from Nina Simone, Bill Withers, and Van Morrison. And let's just say – it was a party!

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

With only days left until the big day, the excitement is building! The celebrations are expected to kick off on Thursday and end on Saturday. But here's the thing – the historic venue chosen for part of their $20 million bash is covered in scaffolding (yes, you read that right!). Talk about a logistical nightmare!

We can't wait to see what Jeff and Lauren have planned for their special day. Will they have a prenup? Only time will tell! Stay tuned for more updates on the wedding of the century – only on The Scholarly Note!
