In January, he filed a lawsuit against his prosecutors, and documents obtained by TSN indicate that the case was thrown out because there had been no progress on it in months. Alec's attorney, Luke Nikas, explained to TSN: "The court dismissed the matter without prejudice because we have been waiting to prosecute the case." He added: "We have been in good-faith settlement discussions with the parties to the lawsuit, and will be refiling promptly if those discussions are not promptly and favorably resolved."
