'I’m Just Addison Now': Rae Announces Shocking Moniker Shift
BOMBSHELL! Addison Rae Drops Rae, Reveals Name Change and Opens Up About Musical Evolution
In a shocking revelation that has sent shockwaves throughout the celebrity world, TikTok sensation-turned-pop-star Addison Rae has confirmed that she's ditching the "Rae" part of her moniker! The 24-year-old stunner made the bombshell announcement during an explosive episode of YouTube series Feeding Starving Celebrities, where she dished about her unexpected name change.
Fresh from the release of her debut album, simply titled "Addison", Rae revealed that she's been toying with the idea of dropping the "Rae" for a while now. When asked by host Quen Blackwell if this was something she'd talked about before, Rae candidly confessed, "I said it in an interview once, I was just like, 'Oh, I think I've grown past just being called Addison Rae.' And then the album being named Addison kind of was a tie-in for that."
But why the sudden name change? Rae spilled the beans, revealing that she's simply tired of signing her name as "Addison Rae" all the time. "It's really long," she laughed. "I just would rather sign Addison." And it seems like this new moniker is more than just a fleeting whim – Rae confessed to Blackwell that she's been leaning towards dropping the "Rae" for a while now, citing her desire to get back to her roots.
The songstress also opened up about the inspiration behind her debut album, telling Blackwell that she was hesitant to give it a title at first. "When you do hear all of the music straight-through, there's not really a title that encompasses all of it," Rae explained. But ultimately, she decided to keep things simple and name the album after herself – and we can't say we blame her!
Rae also chatted about her name change during an interview with Zane Lowe, telling him, "If you got introduced to me as Addison Rae, as most people did, I think you will always know me as that. But I think for me and what making music is doing, for just my own soul and heart, is bringing me back to the core of everything."
And while we're on the topic of core, it seems like Rae is getting back to her roots in more ways than one. In an era where celebrities are often defined by their stage names, Rae's decision to drop the "Rae" could be seen as a bold move towards authenticity.
