In a recent Instagram post, Heidi shared a teaser video featuring herself being transformed into a new character by special effects makeup designer Michael Marino.
The three-time Oscar nominee (yes, you read that right – Marino is an Academy Award-winning makeup artist!) instructed Heidi to bite down on some molding paper, which left many wondering if she'll be sporting some serious dental drama this Halloween. As it turns out, Marino's team of 15 talented artists have transformed some big-name stars in the past, including Colin Farrell for 'The Penguin', Sebastian Stan for 'A Different Man', Eddie Murphy for 'Coming 2 America', and even The Weeknd for his various projects.
Last year's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial costume was a showstopper, with Heidi's face cleverly hidden inside the alien's neck. In previous years, she's donned an earthworm costume (complete with Tom Kaulitz as her trusty fisherman sidekick), transformed into Jessica Rabbit, and even gone full-on Michael Jackson werewolf.
When asked about her Halloween planning process in a 2019 interview with The Scholarly Note, Heidi revealed that she starts thinking about new ideas on November 1 – yes, the day after Halloween! "I usually have two or three ideas that I'm playing with and then I decide on one thing," she said. "Throughout the year, new ideas pop up because maybe I've seen a new or old movie, or was inspired by my travels."
Heidi confessed to putting immense pressure on herself to come up with something even more spectacular each year. "I don't want to let the costume lovers down. I know there are so many creative people out there and fans that are excited to see what I do each year," she explained.
