HBO's Harry Potter Reboot Unveils New Stars for Dursley Roles!

HBO bosses have cast another two key characters for their high-profile TV adaption of Harry Potter after confirming the leading roles

EXCLUSIVE: Harry Potter Reboot Gets Bigger and Better with New Casting News!

The highly anticipated TV adaptation of J.K. Rowling's beloved book series, Harry Potter, has just gotten a whole lot more exciting with the announcement of four new key cast members. And let us tell you, these fresh faces are going to bring a whole new level of magic to the iconic characters.

Dominic McLaughlin, the talented young actor, has been cast as the Boy Who Lived himself, Harry Potter. This is just the beginning, folks! Arabella Stanton will be taking on the role of Hermione Granger, while Alastair Stout will bring Ron Weasley to life on screen. But that's not all - we've got some juicy gossip about the latest casting news.

English actress Bel Powel has reportedly signed up to play Petunia Dursley in the TV adaption after shooting to fame in 2015

According to sources close to the production, Bel Powley (33) has landed the role of Petunia Dursley, Harry's mean and miserable Muggle aunt. This talented actress began her career at just 16 on CBBC, and we're thrilled to see her taking on this iconic character. And let's be real, who can forget her scene-stealing performance as Princess Margaret in A Royal Night Out back in 2015?

But wait, there's more! BAFTA-winning actor Daniel Rigby (42) has been cast as Petunia's husband, Vernon Dursley. With a string of impressive roles under his belt, including the lead in the 2011 BBC film Eric and Ernie, we're confident he'll bring just the right amount of grumpy to the role.

And what about their son, Dudley? Well, that's still a mystery for now, but rest assured, we'll be keeping an eye on who lands this coveted role. The original Dursleys were brought to life by Fiona Shaw and Richard Griffiths in the film franchise - let's see how these new actors compare!

BAFTA-winning actor Daniel Rigby, 42, will play her husband Vernon Dursley, though it's yet to be revealed who will play their son

But it's not all about the Muggle family; the Hogwarts gang is getting a reboot too! John Lithgow will be taking over as the wise and wonderful Albus Dumbledore, while Janet McTeer will bring Professor McGonagall to life with her signature sass. And rising star Paapa Essiedu has been cast as the dark and brooding Severus Snape - we can already imagine him bringing this complex character to new heights.

And let's not forget Hagrid! Nick Frost (53) is trading in his comedy roots for a chance to play the beloved half-giant gamekeeper. But what's really got tongues wagging is his response to the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling's views on trans issues. In an interview with The Observer, Nick distanced himself from Rowling's opinions, stating: "She's allowed her opinion and I'm allowed mine. They just don't align in any way, shape of form."

But amidst all the excitement, there's been a bit of a kerfuffle about the production's choice of location. Apparently, the team has set up shop on the Île de Sein off the coast of Brittany to re-create that iconic "You're a wizard, Harry!" moment with Hagrid. We can just imagine the bewilderment of the British crew as they wondered why they were trekking all the way to France for a show so quintessentially British.

The series is a reboot of J.K. Rowling 's seven-book series and is a full-scale, decade-long adaptation that promises to stick far more closely to the original storylines than the blockbuster films

Mark Mylod, executive producer and director of the new series, had this to say about the casting: "We're delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard, and we can't wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life."

The new Harry Potter TV series aims to lead a new generation of fandom and recapture the magic that fans have enjoyed for 25 years. With this all-star cast on board, we can hardly wait to get our wand-waving hands on it!
