Gwen Stefani's Son Channels Blake Shelton with a Mullet and Country Music Star Power
BLAKE'S MINI-ME: GWEN STEFANI SAYS HER SON ZUMA IS FOLLOWING IN HIS FATHER BLAKE SHELTON'S FOOTSTEPS... LITERALLY!
It's no secret that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are living their best lives together, but now it seems their 17-year-old son Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale is following in his father's footsteps - quite literally!
The proud mom took to her Instagram account on Thursday to wish her eldest child a happy birthday with some adorable snaps of him rocking a mini version of Blake's signature mullet. Yes, you read that right! The teenage heartthrob has transformed into a spitting image of his country singer dad, complete with the iconic "business in the front, party in the back" hairstyle.
Gwen, who is still reeling from her son's rapid transformation into a mini-BLAKEnstein, gushed about Zuma's new look on social media, writing: "Happy birthday to our sweet and talented Zuma! We love [you] soooo much!" The post quickly racked up over 1 million likes and thousands of comments from fans who couldn't get enough of the Stefani-Shelton clan.
But what really caught our attention was the glimpse into Zuma's musical talents. It seems the young singer has been following in his family's footsteps by pursuing a career in country music - just like his dad! In one of the clips shared by Gwen, Zuma can be seen performing a cover of Zach Bryan's hit song "Dawns" on his acoustic guitar at home.
We couldn't help but wonder how long it took for Blake to teach Zuma how to rock that iconic mullet and country twang. The answer? Apparently not too long! In an interview with ET last year, Blake gushed about teaching his stepkids the ways of country music: "I get to teach them the country, you know, and I love that... When people say it's not about you anymore when you have a kid... I think if you're doing it right, it's not about you anymore. That's true."
Blake also dished on how he's been passing down his musical knowledge to Zuma and his siblings, saying: "We still have Apollo, so we have another almost 10 years before we can kick him out, so it should be a lot of fun." The country crooner has been open about how much joy it brings him to share his passion for music with his stepkids.
But what's really got us talking is the fact that Zuma's mini-me makeover isn't just limited to his hairstyle. In September last year, we spotted him rocking some seriously stylish outfits courtesy of his dad's goth-grunge clothing line, Sea of Sound. The kid's got style for days, folks!
As it turns out, Zuma isn't the only one who's been influenced by Blake's country charm. His siblings, Kingston and Apollo, are also showing signs of being future country stars in their own right. Who knows? Maybe we'll see a Stefani-Shelton family music tour on the horizon?
Speaking of Blake's musical endeavors, the singer is set to kick off his Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace's The Colosseum on January 15. But before that, he's got a few more gigs lined up - including a performance in Brookings, South Dakota on August 28.
The country crooner has also been making waves with his Pour Me a Drink collaboration with Post Malone, which earned them a nomination for Best Collaboration at the MTV Video Music Awards. Will they take home the coveted award on September 7?
As for Gwen Stefani, it seems she's taking a well-deserved break from her music career to focus on her clothing line, L.A.M.B. (Love Angel Music Baby). The company, which has been around since 2003, is still going strong - and we can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for Gwen's fashion empire.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Stefani-Shelton clan, folks! It's going to be a wild ride.
